Did you catch us on This Morning on Thursday! We're hoping our appearance will help us find homes for little Daffy & Ozzy.
If not please see the link here https://www.itv.com/…/hot-…/give-a-do g-a-home-daffy-and-ozzy
Amazingly, the wonderful John Barrowman has offered to help with the adoption costs for this wonderful pair! and we cannot thank him enough for his support and of course for the love he showed to our two residents.
... Daffy & Ozzy are two little Jack Russell Terriers who have been with us for three months, patiently waiting for their forever home whilst other luckier dogs come and go.
This lovely pair came to us through no fault of their own after their owner became ill and could no longer care for them. They are now looking for their forever home together. Daffy and Ozzy are great little characters with lots of love to give. They would benefit from a home environment with lots of exercise and plenty of playtime! They walk beautifully on the lead but can be a little nervous of other dogs, mainly larger ones, however with some extra socialization time, they have been able to make some dog friends on site but this will need to be worked on with some training in the home, in the meantime, we would suggest that they live as only pets in the home.
Daffy & Ozzy love kids and would be able to live in a family environment with older sensible children who can also give them time to rest and cuddle. Equally as they travel so well in the car they would make ideal companions for an adult home who like to go out and about, perhaps even in a caravan. they love company and have never been left for long periods so would like someone around most of the time.
Do you have space in your heart and home for Daffy & Ozzy? If so please get in touch with our rehoming team on the information below, but note we anticipate (hope for!) a high volume of calls following our appearance on the show, so may take a while to go through all calls, so please bear this in mind.
Please email info@hollyhedge.org.uk or call 01275 474 719 xx

Meet Tommy, a very confident and affectionate young lad who recently arrived at the sanctuary, and will soon be looking for his forever home. He has some skin issues, for which he is receiving treatment to get him back to feeling his best. Once treated and neutered Tommy will make someone a doting companion. He is already smothering every visitor he has with head butts and dribbly kisses 😻

Nothing makes us happier than seeing our dogs enjoying a well deserved treat. You can see from their scrumptious faces that they went absolutely barking mad for them - wagging tails all around! Once again thank you to all of our supporters (you guys!) for our nomination and Pooch's Dog Treats for your generous donation 🐶

😍😍Happy Furever After 😍😍
My name is Mitzy and I was lucky enough to be adopted by a lovely family who have been so kind to me since I moved in with them.
I soon settled in getting lots of hugs and attention and playtime.
... Even the young girls like to share their toys with me.
I love to play outside a lot, whatever the weather.....
Which can be very tiring..... So I bring thank you gifts... And give lots of kisses!
Thank you Holly Hedge for finding me a fab home!

GOOD NEWS WE HAVE SECURED A FOSTER HOME!... Obviously the work continues to find a permanent home for these two lovelies, however at least we know they are safe and well in a home environment. Thank you for all your shares x
Can anybody help? This is an urgent appeal for a home for Rummie and Dougal, a 10 yr old, JRT X brother & sister pair. Their current home is unable to cope for many reasons and sadly time is running out to find them a home. Rummie and Dougal really strug...gle to be left alone and will need a home where someone can be with them most of the day. They both need medical TLC and will be visiting the vet for a dental. Unfortunately, Rummie occasionally suffers from seizures with an unknown cause; these are rare and don't seem to cause her any problems, however because of this she does need supervision in case she has a seizure and the kennel environment could be dangerous for her. We are desperately looking to avoid this, but their owners cannot keep them much longer, and time is running out for these two. Despite their age, there is life in these older lap dogs yet! They are bundles of joy who just want to be loved and cuddled. Rummie & Dougal need to be the only dogs in the home, and can live with older, patient children, and would be equally happy with a single doting companion. Could you be that special person who has time and love to give this duo a second chance at life? Or perhaps you know someone who could?

We just wanted to say a huuuuge thank you to the wonderful duo, Pip Sharp and Jenny Green for running the Fashion Show a few weeks ago, and thank you to everyone who attended. The event was a big success thanks to their hard work and excellent organisation skills, and the event raised a whopping £944.39, which will provide vital care for our rescues.
Pip & Jenny (the middle two gorgeous ladies from the right hand side) regularly go above and beyond for Holly Hedge, and we are so grateful that their compassion seems to know no bounds. Not forgetting a huge thank you to the volunteers who joined them and everyone who donated a raffle prize - they were highly sought after!
We can't wait for their next events, and we hope to see you all there! xx

😍😍Happy Furever After 😍😍
16th Sept 2015 we brought Oakley home.
Oakley was saved from a Welsh pound by Holly Hedge where sadly he was in a very fragile state. I recall being told by various people that Oakley was severely underweight and needed to be carried as he was so weak... When we first saw Oakley we fell in love with every single bit of him even his boisterousness.
Amazingly Holly Hedge allowed Oakley to be on reserve to us for 4 months while we were in a process of a house move. For that remarkable act we will always be grateful, as you enabled us to take the precious boy home and give him the best life we possibly could, and that he deserves so so much.
Oakley came home to his forever home in September 2015, he was incredible he loved nothing more then long walks and sleeping on the sofa on cold days Oakley to date is amazing. He is so happy he lives on a farm where he had learnt to be friends with horses and chickens he loves to run and explore the fields , Oakley is now completely recall trained and very rarely uses a lead. His other little behaviour issues he did have including jumping sides for food, only walking if food was in-front of him, and screaming when you left the house is all in the past and have all come to an end, and we believe this is due to Oakley finally finding his forever home and being able to settle and call somewhere his own.
Adopting from Holly Hedge was a pleasure and I know for the time Oakley was in there he was cared for remarkably.
Oakley has since become a big brother. He has a little sister who joined his world in March 2017. He has been amazing she's now an 18 month old toddler and their bond is a joy to watch. Some said I should of got rid of Oakley once I had got pregnant. They said he would be a danger and jealous and would kill her as it's his breed 🤦‍♂️ Yet in December 2018 you can see the picture of him loving his little sister and she's so confident that she can give treats to him herself. He is so gentle.
Thank you to everyone at Holly Hedge.

In January we asked you all to help us look after two kittens, Jasper and Beanie with an extremely rare esophageal condition that meant they would have special needs for life. For anyone new to following us on facebook the link to their story is below. Your donations made a huge difference and covered the cost of all their medical needs to date, which is incredible for both the kittens and us as a Sanctuary!
Around a month ago, Joe Perry Gupp contacted us and said he wanted... to make each of them a special feeding station with a raised bowl, so when they ate food it would pass naturally down their oesophagus, making their lives as normal as possible. This felt like a dream come true - we had been trying to figure out how to raise the funds for feeding stations for them. Joe works for an innovative design agency and has designed these amazing feeders so as the kittens grow the bowl can be elevated again and again. We are delighted to share pictures of Jasper using his feeding station, and we are told he loves using it! And yes, in more fantastic news; those pictures are taken of him in his new home where he settled in within the space of an hour and is the picture of content! This is the life that we dream of for all of the animals who come to us, and we are so grateful to all of you for helping them along their journey. Thank you all xx

Mark your calendars for another brilliant Weston Rotary Dog Day!
As always there will be lots of exciting activities for dogs, and we're bringing something new that is sure to get all tails wagging this year! We can't wait to see you all at this fantastic family event that helps raise funds for our animals.

One of the best parts of our day is when we get to give our residents yummy treats and their eyes light up with pure joy and excitement.
Beautiful Joe's Ethical Dog Treats have been sending us a monthly parcel of deliciousness and some of our longer staying residents like Brutus know exactly what's coming! But for newcomers like Bobby it was their first time, and we love his little smile!
Contrary to what it looks like in the photos he does have eyes, and will be getting a haircut when he's in his new home!

😍😍Happy Furever After 😍😍
Thinking back now it would be hard to imagine our family without Thor and Loki. The addition of these two rescue cats into our family has brought us all that little bit of extra happiness that only cats seem to be able to achieve. Whether its smoothing around your legs at breakfast time, watching them chase a bug around the garden on a warm afternoon or jumping up on your lap for a smooth at the end of the day there is always that extra dynamic to our...

We visited you in 2003 and were informed that you had just had the birth of 6 puppies in your kennels and we were introduce to 4 of them and one just couldn't get enough of me , I sat on the floor and she was climbing all over me, you had named her Linda, We decided there and then that this was the one for usand when she was ready, we came back We changed her name to Chloe and took her home with us to Frampton Cotterell, she is still with me in Taunton where we moved and will be 15 this year, she has the company of what was an unwanted pet within my ex's Family he will be 13 this year , we also renamed him from Peanuts to Brandon, great company for Chloe as both are to myself. My Car isn't MY car I think they know it as theirs. We walk local in Taunton but we drive in our car for walks anywhere and every where , can be Blackdown Hills or Exmoor or Dartmoor or the Beaches of Exmouth or Charmouth and recently St. Ives in Cornwall. I thank you yet again for letting me adopt your Linda, she and Brandon are a fantastic company for me, now retired, I often wonder what life would be like without either of them but would love to know her DOB if you have it. Many many Thanks.

We previously adopted Bertie and Sweetie (cats), and the staff were fantastic and really made sure that they were a good match for our family and that the cats were both happy. Sadly, they both passed away last year, but we now feel ready to adopt again. The staff, again, are being very helpful and friendly, and hopefully we will find the right cat for our family soon.

User

We have just adopted Jess, a beautiful collie/ dalmatian cross. From the moment we saw her we knew we could offer her the happy ever after home she has been looking for. The staff at Holly Hedge are all brilliant. They were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. It seemed a happy environment. Jess is settling really well, loves playing with her toys in the garden and enjoys the walks through the woods, up on the hill and down by the river. A great match for all of us. Thank you Holly Hedge.

We have fallen so in love with Barney the mad dog lol even if my husband blamed him for getting him lost and falling over wish I had my camera we are so excited and can't wait to go shopping, no expense will be spared my husbands card has gone into hiding fingers crossed, legs crossed in fact everything crossed all will go ok , everyone at holly hedge has been so nice and friendly.

User

We have adopted twice from Holly Hedge and have had our lovely Alfie for 2 weeks and what a great addition to our family he is. We recommend Holly Hedge to anyone that is looking to complete their family

User

We got Charlie Springer from Holly Hedge last February, the team were wonderful with helping integrate him with our Dalmatian Ruby ensuring they were a good fit to live together - they are the best of friends and wouldn't be without each other and we wouldn't be Charlie. We now volunteer as dog walkers and make sure we attend as often as possible (often with food parcels in tow) and enjoy walking and having cuddles with the dogs. I would recommend Holly Hedge to anyone.

User

We adopted Larry just over a month ago . We needed a dog that would fit in to our life as we run a pub . The staff suggested Larry who has become a perfect fit , who loves to be part of pub life

User

We adopted Dylan and Kelso from Hollyhedge 15 months ago. All the staff and volunteers we encountered were friendly and supportive, offering guidance on the dogs that would be suitable for us to adopt. The adoption process was thorough but understandable given that the sanctuary aims to find "forever" homes" for the animals it shelters. Dylan and Kelso give us so much joy and affection and it's hard to think back to a time when they were not part of our family. Lots of people stop to fuss and talk to Dylan and Kelso and we take every opportunity to tell them about Hollyhedge and the benefits of adopting.

User

Visited on the offchance and so happened to find a new family member! Staff are really lovely and keen to match the animal to the right family. Would highly recommend coming to give an animal it’s forever home.

User

Saw my Forever friend on the website last Tuesday week ...1 week later and I've been blessed with getting my perfect match. The staff and volunteers are so dedicated, patient, cheerful and informative. Special thanks go to Lois and Billie ....you girls are stars. Can't thank you enough xx

User

My 9 year old daughter and I are volunteers here. We dog walk and cat cuddle and we love it. Staff are so friendly and appreciate the time we give. Would highly recommend volunteering if you're unable to have pets or just love animals!!

User

Love visiting this sanctuary, the front of house & the staff there are wonderful, the canines, cats & recently adapting to help small rodents, Guinea pigs etc & the recently secured & rehomed ickle shire horses is wonderful to watch... That said the management team are in my opinion as they live on-site a credit..to all managed who work there whilst relying somewhat on volunteers to assist & all who contribute with donations to help going forward xx.... IMO a great team.

Just ask if you require anything & if I can I will help you.

User

I adopted Wilf (now Wilfie) 2 years ago and I wouldn't be without him. He's gone from a very frightened nervous boy to become the loving affectionate cheeky monkey he is today. Hollyhedge is amazing as Wilfie has a lot of issues and is on medication for life and attends hydrotherapy every fortnight which Hollyhedge pay for. Thank you very much for helping me find my lovely boy xx

User

User

After a recent visit we were so impressed with the staff & their love 4 the animals & how keen they are to rehome the dogs. I didnt get the same feeling at another dogs home. My daughter was allowed to meet a few outside of their kennel & we took 2 of the dogs for a walk. Unfortunately we didnt find the right dog for all of our family but will be back to look again soon.
