... Guests that had fun at the amazing Kingsbury May Festival this year might like to note their 2020 date has just been released 🎉. A great family fun day out and only 50 minutes drive from our lovely lodges if you fancy a quintessential country fair, maypole and morris dancing, great food, live music and arty crafty stalls etc.
Why not tie in a visit to the famous Burrow Hill Cider and Somerset Cider Brandy Company whilst you’re there... or take a beautiful walk along the River Parrett and through the many pretty apple orchards out on the Somerset Levels.
Bird watching, murmurations, willow making, famous pottery and wetland centres worth a peak too in that area. If you fancy getting out and about on the water, you can hire a kayak, canoe or paddle board from Langport which is also an exciting option for a day out. Please see links below for more information.

Happy Bank Holiday from Hollybush!
Guests have been enjoying our homegrown apples in abundance 😋 And something a little magical has happened to our beautiful old tree... 🧚🏻‍♂️✨💫
If you fancy escaping the hot summer sunshine and losing yourself in dappled shade through beautiful woodland, then take a trip to Cranmore Woods. Just 6 minutes drive from our lodges - magnificent trees, pretty woodland walks, chirpy bird song and a historic tower stretching up some 1050 ft above se...a level awaits! If you’re quiet enough 🤫... deer, pheasant, foxes, rabbits and more roam through the trees and the views from the footpath are spectacular as you leave the woods and head into East Cranmore. Children can run free, filling up on fresh air and country finds - the blackberries are just starting to ripen here, so look out for those.
The tower has a small tea room to refresh you should you manage the 184 steps to the top to enjoy the stunning 360° views... and if you have no fear of heights & a sense of adventure, then visit in September and attend the fun abseil.

A GREAT family fun day out, just 15 minutes drive from our lodges... where else can you see a pink sheep dressed in a tutu, one wearing a baseball cap or another sporting a lion’s mane??! 🤣 Only in Somerset!!!

Happy Hollybush Holidaymakers 🙂... plenty of fun to have locally over last weekend - the amazing Valley Fest was on by Chew Valley Lake and the Glastonbury Extravaganza held in the Abbey Ruins 🎼 💃🏼🕺🏻. Much music and merriment at both and each venue less than half an hour’s drive from our super duper comfortable wooden lodges!
Looking ahead... fancy a little Somerset tipple later on this month?? 🍸🍸🍸 There are some giddy gin festivals coming up, plus one local pubs now has it...s very own ‘gin menu’ (how cosmopolitan!)... perfect alongside a gastro pub dinner treat in the countryside.
Burrow Hill Somerset Cider is also worth a visit out on the Somerset levels if you like your scrumpy and cider brandy 🥃😋
