Holme Howler Description
The Holme Howler began in 2012 under the same banner as part of the Holme Festival of Sport. The Race got it's own name the following year and is know as The Holme Howler!
Andy Pearson came up with the idea when the Olympic games were on. Returning from Spain with 35 years running experience under his belt, he thought about rekindling the old 10k race the village used to do many years ago. Thinking the roads could prove too many challenges he came up with the idea to organise an 'off road' obstacle course instead! It's grown and grown since that first race and now brings in 100's of runners instead of 10's.
