Great store and fantastic bargains. Always come back with more than was on my list.

Great staff and store. My little boy accidentally dropped a glass bottle today after purchasing it on the way out. He was devastated. A young man that worked there was so kind. Came running after us with a new one wrapped in bubble wrap wishing my boy a good day. This made his day and mine. It's little things like this that make such a difference. Thank you

Went to the Christchurch branch this evening as frequently do and was disgusted by attitude of girl on checkouts !!! Manners cost nothing young lady an absolute disgrace . If you cannot be polite then leave and let someone deserving your job have it :(

Usually love home bargains and visit regularly but today's experience was not a great one! Shopping with 2 children under 5 is not always enjoyable at the best of times and after fighting my way around the shop I finally got to the till, where an unfriendly check out assistant started to scan my items without even so much as a 'hello', he could see me struggling but not once asked if I needed help packing or anything, (now I usually say no to help packing anyway...I don't expect to be waited on but a simple offer would have been polite!) When an item that he went to scan did not have a barcode on it he looked at me to solve the problem, I thought he might have wanted to know the price so I told him this and he said no I need another one from the shelf, he told me I would need to go back around the shop whilst he continued to scan my items. I looked at my 2 young children sat in the trolley and the crowds of people I would need to fight through to get back around the shop and back again. I was just about to say not to worry and I would leave the item when the lady queuing behind me kindly offered to go and get one for me rather than having to leave my children in the trolley (I couldn't get my trolley back through the queue and wouldn't have been able to carry my children ASWELL as the item I needed to get!) I thanked her kindly and she came back with it, telling me she understood me not wanting to leave my children and glad she could help. I then went to pay, and for some reason he said my card couldn't be read, so He swiped it and then handed me a receipt saying "have you got a pen?" Looking at me hurrying my bags into the trolley and huffing as if to tell me to hurry up. I told him I didn't think I had a pen and he continued to sit staring at me whilst I searched through my whole handbag to find a pen to sign the receipt (as if he couldn't have asked a colleague for a pen...surely not too much to expect if people need to sign receipts a lot?) After finding a pen at the bottom of my bag (silently begging it to work!) I could finally leave, but realised I hadn't quite thought through my last minute purchase at the till (two separate lots of the set of 3 underbed storage boxes) and how I would carry it out to the car, I spent 5minutes wrestling with them trying to put them under my arms at different angles whilst still managing to pull the trolley from the back...all the while I watched people wandering around me and various staff members walking around with not much to do...I walked backwards out of the shop and lost control of the trolley only being able to hold with a few fingers but it spun round as I approached the slope outside. Luckily I wasn't parked too far away from the shop and so once I had tackled the task of getting it all in (and the children) I sat in my car ready to cry, and for once it wasn't due to my children misbehaving!!! So very disappointed with such little thought from the home bargains team today! Instead of offering any real help I was looked upon with either a vacant stare from the checkout assistant or utter disgust from anyone else!!!
