At long last I am pleased to announce that we are open again for business today! We’ve spent a long time sorting issues out and this time we expect to open and stay open. So please pull in and buy some fresh raw milk. Give your immune system a boost today!
Alas we’ve had to close for the moment. Standards on raw milk are very high and at the moment our coilform levels are above the accepted level. Frankly we all keep on drinking the milk just fine, but we aren’t allowed to sell it until the levels drop again. Which they will. We’ve no idea why they go up and down at times. Nothing changes in our practices but that’s the truth. We’ll open again as soon as we are green lighted by the FSA.
Love the comments you all leave. We need a new pen though!
Finally we are open again for business! Sorry to all our loyal customers for the long closure but we are back on track now!
We have had to close the vending machine for a few days in order to be able to carry out some necessary maintenance and improvements. We will open again as soon as possible!
Young calves are now out enjoying a roam around and some juicy May grass..
Thanks for all of the awesome messages on our new board..
A group of maiden heifers running with the bull. He has a pretty nice job - getting all these girls pregnant. Contrary to some stories around bulls are still widely used alongside artificial insemination..
Turn out time at last. Is there any sight more beautiful than cows enjoying the sun and grass on a beautiful day in an English spring?
An essential part of dairy farming is getting rid of the poo! This tractor is spreading slurry in an arable crop: getting rid of the waste but also putting valuable nutrients back in the soil. Livestock farming is essential to good soil health..
Spring delayed this year. Normally we would hope to have some cows out grazing. But the fields are still empty...
Every year we plant 1,000 new trees on the farm. This year we have planted oak, beech, silver birch and hornbeam. Farming is all about balance..!
Snow’s all gone so back to normal! Don’t worry about the cows - they only get cold if the temperature drops below -10..!
Calling into the factory today to collect the next batch of bottles!
I have a supply of nice quality reusable glass milk bottles for £1 each. If you want o buy one can you message me and let me know? Saves a bit of plastic use which we should all try to do!
Apologies to those unable to collect milk ok yesterday. I think we underestimated demand and the tank ran dry. Plenty in today if you want to call back!
Cold milk this morning..
Remember this month has been dubbed “Februdairy” after Veganuary. Come and support it with a litre of pure raw milk straight from the cows!
