Please be advised that we are down to one telephone line, due to vandalism at the local Blackmore exchange, which happened last week. We have been advised by BT that it may take up to two weeks to fix the damage and restore all our lines. It is wonderful to hear feedback from our CAREGivers in how they look forward to their companionship services. Recently our CAREGiver took this photo of one of our clients living with Dementia. After this photo was taken, the client managed to pot the black ball and he was so excited and celebrated with the rest of the members.
This client is very passionate about playing snooker and has done all his life and now living with Dementia it is still important to continue playing the sport he enjoys.
Our CAREGivers want to spend as much time with our clients to make a difference and give them a better quality of life. Continuing to live in the comfort of their home and providing a meaningful service really highlights what Home Instead stands for.

We are experiencing problems with incoming and outgoing calls in Blackmore due to an incident to the phone lines. Home Instead Senior Care are networking in Brentwood today for the Community Event organised by CVS. Joined here with the NHS, Community Agents Essex, Lighthouse, NHS Essex Partnership University and many more. We are here from 10-2pm today

Joining the Community Event in Brentwood today, to support the elderly with information and advice, other stands will include advice on wellbeing, safety in the home, IT, free health checks and much more.

We are getting nearer to the 10th anniversary date and to start the celebrations Janet (CAREGiver) has been busy baking these amazing blueberry and chocolate cupcakes.
Thank you Janet for taking the time to make these cakes for us, everyone has said how lovely they are and purple decoration to match our Home Instead Senior Care colours.

Lorraine and Carrie were holding an information table at Barleylands today outside the Tiptree Café where they met Jane the owner of the toyshop - To The Moon and Back
Jane explains how passionate she is at providing sensory items which help children with sensory needs and traditional wooden toys and puppets which are educational. On the subject of Dementia, there is a touching book on sale about a little boy called Oscar who is building a relationship up with his Grandma li...ving with Dementia.
I would encourage all our CAREGivers and beyond to go and have a read of the book and especially little ones who have family members living with dementia. It’s a very true insight to how best to explain to little ones the confusion and sigma around Dementia.

Recently one of our CAREGivers shared some photos of a trip to Essex Wildlife Trust Hanningfield Reservoir.
What a lovely day it is today for a stroll and refreshments in the Cafe On The Water At Hanningfield.
The nature reserve offers some beautiful walks through the woodland, taking in bird hides, ponds and views across the reservoir. Lots of our clients like watching the birds and at different times of the year.

Earlier this month Steve completed a Dementia Workshop with the Managers and employees at Sainsbury's in Brentwood.
They were really keen on us going to complete the talk during Carers Week as they wanted to host an event to promote this in the local area.
We had some great feedback from the employees as Sainsbury's have launched earlier this year an initiative to enhance the shopping experience for customers with hidden disabilities including Dementia.

We wanted to say a huge congratulations to one of our CAREGivers Janet who held a Cup Cake Fundraiser a few weeks ago and donated £515 to the Alzheimer's Society and made an incredible 300 cakes.
Janet had an open house and invited all her friends colleagues and neighbors to the event, here are a few photos of the cakes she made.
Janet worked very hard in baking all the cakes ready for the day and said it was a huge success and enjoyed every minute.

What a lovely day for a visit to Lake Meadows in Billericay. This is a regular visit with some of our clients (photos sent in from our CAREGivers) for a stroll around the ponds, feeding the ducks and refreshments at the cafe.
We encourage our clients to go for a walk and meet new people as walking offers numerous heart health benefits.
