About Home Instead Chichester & Bognor Regis

Home Instead Senior Care provides the highest quality care and support, helping older people to remain independent in their own homes

Home Instead Chichester & Bognor Regis Description

Care is different with Home Instead: we match our Clients with our CareGivers and each Client is seen for a minimum one hour on any day we visit - this allows trust to develop and means people aren’t rushed with their care.

We offer companionship, home help and specialist care including re-enablement, Dementia support and end of life care, which helps elderly people in and around Chichester, Bognor Regis, Selsey and The Witterings to remain independent in their own homes.

Many studies have shown that art therapy can have a positive impact on those with dementia. It’s shown to enhance communication, brain function and even triggers dormant memories and emotions!
Many museums and community centres are trying out art therapy so if it's of interest to you then be sure to check out opportunities in your local town!

Congratulations to Tina Martin for achieving her Care Certificate 💜 Not everyone who joins Home Instead has prior experience: we provide all the training you'll ever need. But everyone has a BIG ♥ #YouCanCare

You know those little raised bumps on our pavements?
It turns out they have a fascinating language of their own.
For visually impaired pedestrians, a variety of tactile markings and patterns help them navigate our towns and cities.
... For example, these raised circular bumps mean a dropped curb before a crossing.
Horizontal stripes? There are stairs or obstacles ahead of you. Verticle stripes: the path is safe.
Circular dots that aren't aligned? There is a train or gap ahead!
Visually impaired people rely on these patterns, however, councils outside of London seem to be moving towards aesthetic considerations. They’re changing the colours to darker greys, so it blends in more.

A good friend will be there for you through thick and thin, offer advice, a listening ear, and will make you laugh so hard you're concerned for your stomach! But did you know a good friend can also keep you from developing numerous detrimental health effects in later life including an increased number of falls, dementia, and heightened risk of risk for re-hospitalisation? A good companion has never been so important!

User

Happy Valentines Day everyone!
From the bottom of our heart, thank you to all our CAREGivers and staff who give so much to others. You are all incredible!

Did you know companionship has been linked to helping fight off symptoms of depression in adults older than 65? Companionship is extremely important for both mental and physical wellbeing! Even if it's something as simple as baking some delicious treats with your loved one today, make sure they're getting enough social interaction!

Have you noticed your parent responding oddly to questions lately?
A lot of the time our immediate reaction is to jump to dementia- but before worrying yourself, get their hearing checked. Sometimes the elderly will fake hearing due to embarrassment or pride, and the problem actually has nothing to do with their brain at all. So if you have been noticing some troubles, get their hearing checked out and then make the necessary steps from there.

Top caregiving tip: when entering an older person's home it’s always good practice to first thank them for having you, and ask where they would like you to sit. The idea of where you sit may seem small to you, but it can actually make a massive difference! Our elders especially tend to set up a specific chair or sofa for themselves with their glasses, phone, or notebook nearby. Sometimes it’s set up in a spot where the sun doesn’t get in their eyes, or they feel the most comfortable and can actually be a power position!

Whiteboards are a great way of reassuring someone living with dementia

Music can bring out emotions and memories from those with even the most advanced stages of Alzheimer’s. In those later stages, it’s often difficult to share emotions with carers. So try putting some music on for your older loved one and start dancing! 💃💃

It's a great company who put people first. Such a lovely group of people to work along side. Each and everyone of the team go that extra mile to ensure they provide only the best care. Im very pleased to have been given the opportunity to work for HomeInstead.

User

It has got to be the best company I have every worked for. We are a great team and to say we care is an understatement. Thanks you for allowing me to be a part of Home Instead Chichester.

User

I've been with the company 3 months and its been the best job move i've ever made.I have never worked with such a caring and supportive management team before.

User

I work for this company for the last 18 months .. they are always there to help ..calls are not rushed and you get time to get to no your client and they try to match you with someone who has the same intrests. .

User

I have worked here for 8months (or thereabouts). I came with zero confidence, experience or clue of what was expected but ive been treated with nothing but kindness and encouragement ever since, and i cannot thank you all enough. Right from my trainer, the various office staff and seniors for the constant reassurance and advice (and calendar adjustments) and most importantly, surprisingly and thankfully from my colleagues out with our clients. A lovely company to work for and a great place to meet good people and friends, thank you for my opportunity

I have worked for Homeinstead as a Caregiver for 6 months. I had never worked as a Carer before. The Caregivers I have met are very dedicated to delivering outstanding care to our clients. I am so impressed with the level of care given that I have organised for my mother in law to receives care from the Wallington, Surrey branch of Homeinstead. Recent feedback from her is that the caregiver who goes into her is ‘Wonderful’

User

I have only been working for Home Instead for a few months but am so glad that I approached Simon to find out what exactly it is to be a caregiver. I have been running my own small business for 2 years, which I love, but just felt that an important part of my personality wasn't being fulfilled; the caring part. Simon and the Home Instead team has enabled me to combine running my business and being a caregiver. They have supported me throughout my training and beyond. They are a very caring group of people. I just love all the clients I support and get a huge sense of satisfaction after every visit!

I can't thank enough the team that helped mum over the past few months. She wanted to retain her independence and the help and care you provided was excellent. From the moment I spoke with Simon and then met with Lisa and subsequently the team who provided mum's support, I had complete confidence she was in good hands. That gave me and the family considerable peace of mind being some distance away at the time. Now she has moved, mum continues to improve her mobility and confidence, has retained her independence and has a quality of life that was in many ways due to the support she had from your team at a particularly low point. It could have been so different, so thank you, what you do to make individuals lives better is extraordinary.

User

Excellent Company, they really care about their staff and customers and this shows through the delivery of care given. Highly recommended.

User

Definitely a great team who cares as much for their clients as they do for us the Carers....
