Home Instead Senior Care Help the Homeless!
Nisha Chandarana, MD wanted to help the homeless during the bitterly cold spell end of January, beginning of February. She spoke with one man, giving him two hot water bottles, to keep him warm during one of her evenings. Nisha really wanted to do her part to help, she also donated sleeping bags and foil blankets to The Bridge in Leicester. We truely are thankful to have such caring people in our community. Living with dementia can be difficult if someone doesnt know how to communicate effectively. Here are some tips and pointers how you can have a great conversation with someone suffering from Dementia.
1. Be positive! Set a positive environment. 2. Eliminate all distractions.... 3. Say your message slowly and clearly to ensure the client understands you. 4. Listen intently, show you are listening with open body language. 5. Remember the good old days - Reminisce the memories they once shared with their loved ones. 6.Maintain your sense of humour - When times get tough, be there to make your client laugh and smile. :)
