In the UK things are changing, with incomes shrinking and disappearing, people are finding themselves in fuel poverty. In an age where we are looking for ways to cut down on our power bills or switching mobile phone providers for the next best thing; there are people within walking distance, that are thinking about where their next meal is going to come from, how to stay dry, or warm on cold winter nights.

Although clothing and food banks are on the increase to help with these problems, many more community funded organisations closing their doors simply because the demand is too high or the funding has been stopped.

At Homeless Beanies our goal is simple, it is measurable and achievable. We want to warm 200 heads by the end of 2013 from there, the growth potential for an idea like Homeless Beanies is literally limitless.

A syndicated statement has been the theme of many activist groups; “Think globally, act locally. ” With Homeless Beanies we have the potential to think locally, act locally, and to think globally, and act globally. At the centre of our mission is a real desire to help people around us; as we grow the people further away become closer in a sense.
