Action needs to be taken before the end of October. judging by how people on this page support our homeless I'm assuming this bill will be important reading for us all.

Howard Sinclair, the chief executive of the homelessness charity St Mungo’s, said the cut would leave the homeless charity with £3 million a year less to spend on services.

Hi,
I am wondering if anyone will help me.
My friend is helping a homeless man in London. It is early stages and she is gaining his trust and looking out for him. This good but unfortunate man has no sleeping bag, camping mat or anything that might help him survive in these circumstances and I would like to help. I have contacted a facebook page I used to support (see link below) but not heard back so I think they shut down and stopped what they were doing. Does anyone have any of the following items spare so we can start the steps to helping this man and hopefully getting him off the streets (or know a charity I can contact for donations or something):
- camping/travel rucksack - sleeping bag - camping mat - hat/s - thermal socks - thermal gloves - large man-size coat - anything else that might help
It is so important to me to try and help where I/we can and I am reaching out and hoping someone here can help me help another. Please get in touch. It would be good to give him these items before the colder weather sets in.

Let's hope that the suggested changes to homeless law and council powers, responsibility come into effect.
I'd encourage discussion about further ways to help. We have a large number of willing, active people on here.

Some like to give money, some like to give food and refreshment to people they see in need.
Here is another way to help. Some homeless won't engage with services for their own reasons be that a previous bad experience or even that they have tried and it didn't work out.
St mungos posted this on their site.
... Sleeping rough brings with it serious implications, from life threatening health conditions to feelings of isolation and fear that link in with loss of self-worth and confidence. Our outreach teams comb the streets looking for homeless people who need help; aiming to help people into accommodation as fast as possible. Homeless clothing for ex military in London.

Date and venue change due to more organisations joining to donate. Sunday December 18th 2016 from 1pm.

Under Waterloo bridge, embankment side.

Volunteers from SSAFA "Clifton Street", Mark Hobbs our street pastor and friends, will be handing out a good number of sleeping bags, new boots, socks, gloves, scarves etc to our homeless.

First come, first serve.

This may also be in conjunction with TV-AM. ITV are making a documentary to show that we still have a lot to do, to get our people off the streets.

This will be filmed by SSAFA and ITV, you do not have to be on film. That's your choice.

But if you want your story heard, the nation will listen. THIS IS YOUR VOICE, use it.

HOMELESS NOT HELPLESS!

Great to see you all still working hard and committed to the homeless. Just also wanted to say 'well done' to Kensington Aldridge Academy school for 'donating' and doing a 'sleep over' at their school last weekend. I think all schools should contribute to homeless like this too.
