Had bailiffs/enforcement agents knocking at the door? Don't panic! You do not have to let an Enforcement Agent into your home. They cannot use force to gain initial entry to a property, but they can use any “peaceable means” of entry (e.g. walking in through an unlocked door, in such a way as to do no damage) -so ensure that your doors are kept locked. Forcing their way past someone at the door is not allowed, and neither is threatening to come back with bolt cutters or any other implement to allow them to force entry.

Are you concerned that you might have borrowed money from a loan shark? Anybody who lends money needs to be FCA approved. If you or somebody you know are being exploited by loan sharks report it to the hotline. Check out their website for further advice.Don't suffer in silence, help is out there.

We are looking for a positive and professional Debt Advice Caseworker to work as part of a small team, covering the full range of debt work throughout the South Hams, East Devon and Teignbridge areas as part of the Money Advice Service face to face Debt Advice Project.
... This project is target driven, and you will need to be able to prioritise your own work, meet deadlines and manage your caseload successfully to achieve the project target.
As the role will involve visiting people in their own home, there is a need for travel throughout Devon, and so the use of your own car is an essential requirement.

We are recruiting:
Money Advice Worker, 2 days (14.8 hours) per week: (days to be agreed)
We are seeking a positive, professional adviser to provide money advice to clients referred by East Devon District Council - who are seeking financial assistance from the Authority via DHP or EHF - by assisting with budgeting, dealing with debt and income maximisation
... The successful candidate will have at least one year’s money advice experience, good contemporary knowledge of the benefits system and the ability to work in an empowering way. The post may involve visiting people in their own homes.
Salary – £22,837.50 pro rata +3% Pension Contribution (Actual starting salary £9,135)
