Think a male is emerging with this head I’m working on

User

2 nd head shape, wish I hadn’t given her eyes, she looks so sad, do you think she realises she’s just a head that’s not gonna have a body 😩

I received some great advice yesterday so I am passing it on. Get those fly traps up now, it’s easier to damage their numbers early season, far to late to make much of a difference if left till they really become a problem. Mine are now all primed and ready to go. The war on flies begins!!!! 😂😂😂

Construction all completed. Now be kind 😂 this is just a maquette a “see if it can be done”, with my punch hook with paca fabric. This was constructed using a traditional bear pattern, so she is fully jointed. Well it obviously can be done, the fabric is stable and feels lovely to the touch as all good paca should 😁and now I’ve understand how the jointing works etc,, it’s time to corrupt the pattern and make this work better for me 😁

Yarn all dyed, fabric not too far from finishing, soon construction can begin 😊 Punch hook on linen

Happy Mothers Day!!!!!

Just had a light bulb moment, time to plan my next challenge. So if I’m quiet, I’ve not fallen of the face of the earth, the pacas are fine & dandy, I’m just about to slip back into my obsessional, making bubble, is all. Just give me a poke if you need me, I might be awhile 😂😂😂

For those of you that are interested and as I’ve been asked loads this past weekend “ how have I done that” I’ve been experimenting with a technique called punch hook traditionally used to make rugs. Historically much coarser sheep wool is the medium that is used for this technique but traditional methods & rules have never been much of a deterrent for me 😂😂😂 Using alpaca a much finer, softer fibre lead me to creating things that were about the feel as much as visual appeal,... which is why I steered away from actually using it to make a rug. The cushions were an obvious choice, the dressing table stool, with hidden storage maybe not so 😂 hook punching gives you two sides to the fabric, one is loops the other smooth and so depending on the side or swopping between them as on the stool, gives two distinctly different looks. The slippers were created in a way that played to the strengths of both sides of the fabric, the very soft loops of Alpaca on the inside giving the feel of soft comfort which negates the use of Alpaca skins/ sheepskin found in other fluffy slippers and the smooth side used for the outer for visual appeal. As to the bag, a carpet bag made outa carpet just seemed right somehow 😂 Anyways the point of the post is to say how I did i, why I did it, and to hopefully inspire people to use their Alpaca fibre. This is such an easy technique to do, the results I think are pleasing to the eye, and of course touch and anyone could do this, no great skill involved. So get your Alpaca fleece processed in to yarn and have a go!!!!

Who wouldn’t want alpacas on their coffee table?. 😁 finally finished the designs I’ve been working on for a set of 4 glass encased coasters. The backs are of a non slip fabric, so not only are your surfaces protected, but also they don’t slide around. Numerous colour schemes and of course gift boxed. Hope you like them 😊

User

Have been working on an order and have done these 2 extra bags. They are the only ones I have available in this colour so once gone are gone. Pm me if interested 😊
