What a lovely pub in the middle of the Kent countryside, we were there camping on the 15th April great food & great atmosphere & the band were brilliant, thank you Hook & Hatchet for a fabulous night from the members of the Kentish V-Dub club we hope to see you soon �

What a great night last night for the fireworks � took some friends for a meal and drinks and couldn't ask for more, don't really want to promote this great pub too much or we won't be able to get in when we can. But they deserve it They are a great crowd and always make you feel welcome with stuff going on all the time will differently have to try the quiz night and when our classic car is finished will be up on the show days

We had an amazing family meal last night! Lovely Sunday roast, and nothing was too much trouble. My 5 year old doesn’t stop talking and the waitress was amazing in chatting with her! Lovely food and lovely staff we will definitely be back!

This is one of my favourite places. Great location next to the Hucking Estate, fab food and hospitality. I’ve camped a few times with my 3 hounds and enjoyed a mini festival, hound walks, music gig nights and Sunday lunch. The hosts are wonderful and are always improving the facilities. Every time I stay there’s something new. The vegetarian breakfast is scrummy.

Can’t wait to getaway for a weekend and camp over with friends.

This has now become our local, Bingo, Quiz, Open mic are all great nights and the themed nights are fab. Halloween was a great night. The landlord/landlady are so welcoming and it feels like you are sitting in your lounge at home. Love this place. Fab atmosphere great for a nice drink and food is fab. would highly recommend. x

Supurb pub, had a meal here with eight other walkers at the end of our walk. Staff friendly and efficient, catered for gluten free, food excellent and free entertainment with band playing in the garden. Garden is lovely with lots of room and quirky furniture. Definitely recommend.

Really brilliant pub simple as that, I can't honestly find a fault location, staff, food, beer and regular theme nights all just very good, (it was a bit windy up on the hill when we camped the other weekend though ��)

But seriously we love it, it's definitely our favourite place at the moment and looking forward to coming back.

Once again, visited this little Gem at the end of the Easter Weekend, spent a wonderful 5 hours chilling in the garden listening to live music before retiring inside and being treated t o a warm and cosy atmosphere. Decided to "treat ourselves away from the Kids" and ordered two burgers and two lots of cheesy chips,massive portions and very tasty. All in all a wonderful end to the Easter weekend, we WILL definitely be back xxxxxx

Myself and my husband have been the last 2 Sunday afternoons for a drink after a walk around Hucking Estate and we were really impressed with the pub, from the atmosphere, the friendly staff to great live music and wanted to go back for dinner sometime. Myself, my husband and my son went last night for dinner and it was a Country music themed evening. The welcome we got from the minute we got in was lovely and even though it was very busy we felt the staff always had time for us and nothing was too much trouble. The food selection was lovely and in theme of the night and was very tasty. The live band were very good and the whole night was a lot of fun. Lovely atmosphere, great live music, lovely friendly staff and good food! What more can you want? Would highly recommend and we will be going back soon for sure! Thank you!

Lovely afternoon to sut in the sun. Lunch was great, food was really good. Loved the cheese Ploughman's. There was lots of space for my daughter to play. My dog was equally happy relaxing in the sun. Really recommend

Just an amazing place so much to offer my husband and i will be back.Have a lot of friends visiting from australia this year can not wait to take them to visit for meals walks and drinks .

Had breakfast at the Hook and Hatchet this morning, very tasty, superb value and the cuppa with it was perfect and even purchased some freshly laid eggs, well worth visiting.

Had a great night last Saturday I'm part of the Kent vw owners club a few of us parked on the camp site wich is next door live music great evening meal even woke up and had much needed full English breakfast will going back for a visit very soon

Fantastic atmosphere. We camped for one night. Amazing bacon cheese burgers and chips to die for . The beer festival was enjoyed by all. Ok . The big breakfast bloody gorgeous. All the staff and owners were extremely welcoming and couldn't do enough for us . Will definitely return and camp again . Thanks Russ and Nic x

Another fabulous night at this cracking country pub. Wonderful atmosphere loved the live music after a yummy meal and a few glasses of wine. I love this little gem of English heaven. Friendly relaxed clean and beautifully decorated. It's everything a good pub should be no matter weather it's for a meal, lunchtime drinks or pit stop on a walk with the dogs.

A very lovely pub with atmosphere and charm. This is a very friendly pub and the staff I can not fault. The food in here is lovely and good size portions, I have done walks starting and finishing at the pub many a time and they always welcome the dogs inside. They even have horse parking bays!

A hidden gem of a pub in the Stunning Kent countryside. Friendliest staff anywhere. Highly recommended

Went for Sunday lunch. It was rammed with a private function as well as walkers, horse riders and regulars. Our roasts were plentiful and very hot. Service very friendly and considering the amount of people eating was quick . Food was excellent. Could have done with a bit more cheese on the cauliflower cheese but I guess that is taste. Had a classic knickerbocker glory for pud. Will definitely come again for subday lunch as was rather jealous of my friends roast pork (I had beef).
