The Hope and Anchor Bristol on Jacobs Wells Road is definitely one of my favourite pubs in Bristol. It's one of my 'go to' places when I just want to chill with friends, relax and have a laugh over a few tasty pints. They have a good selection of beers and they do very yummy home-made good, honest pub grub too - no fripperies here! Their Sunday roast is particularly yummy (and very popular!). I love the walled beer garden when it's sunny too. The staff are friendly and welcoming (and so are, for that matter, the other customers too. Somebody's always up for a chat over a pint. I love that about this pub!)

Thank you James and all at our local lovely Hope & Anchor for bring so welcoming to Jacobs Wells Community Hub yesterday. The shandy was excellent too.

Pizza was delicious. I ordered added prosciutto on the 4-cheese pizza and enjoyed a delicious local-ish cider with it. There was a pub quiz going on when I wandered in and the host (and bar owner) was absolutely hilarious. Great environment.

User

Perfect venue as we were celebrating my mums 80th birthday and she grew up in the pub! Thank you for being so hospitable

User

Outstanding. Not to be missed if you are in the area.

User

It goes with my belief, that it is the staff, that make the pub. And this pub excels in that! 😀

User

How inconvenient for a pub to be right on my route home from the gym!

Very quickly one of my favourite pubs (within hours). Huge ass beer garden you can tuck away in, amazing food (lots of vegan options and pizzas), great beers, amazingly lush dogs and more importantly friendly bar staff that make you feel right at home. Top pub. Country-side feel boozer in the best part of central Bristol. Worth a visit, and another, and another..

User

Fantastic pub, friendly personable staff, great range of drinks and one of the best and well kept beer gardens in Bristol; a professional gardener has definitely had a good go at it! A real gem of a boozer

User

Fantastic Christmas meal, brilliant staff and a lovely atmosphere, what more could you ask for!!! A proper pub for proper people......thanks once again

User

A great pub to work at, enjoyed my time at the Hope. Pizzas are top-notch and cracking roast dinners served here also. One of the pubs you should visit while you're in Bristol!

User

Friendly staff and fun games on a Wednesday night. All on one level so no stairs to navigate a bonus for me.

User

Brilliant pub. Great staff and good beer selection. Food to come!

User

Food was disgusting we had a Sunday roast never have I been served up food like this would not recommend it

First and last time , the landlord was so over the top , very welcoming to begin with but when he asked how our meal was he didn't like our reply that the food was cold and the so called crackling on the belly of pork was inedible because it was limp and definately not crackling . The roast potaoes had clearly been reheated as had the rest of the vegetables but not to a very high temperature . The Yorkshire pudding looked very.nice but it was dry and tasteless but on the plus side underneath the floppy crackling the pork was lovely on three of our dinners but on the fourth dinner it was dry . The landlord /manager became extremely rude to us when hearing of our complaints , definitely not a place to return to .
