Looking forward!
ASIC/ Hopscotch and Epimirfosis are exited to present Sensory Integration Module 1: Theory, Research and Neuroscience Foundations, in Thessaloniki between 20-24 June 2018! This will be the fourth SI 1 Module taught this year and has enjoyed great success in Dubai, Athens and Warsaw in the last couple of months! I would like to take this opportunity and thank all the people that have worked behind the scenes to make these courses a reality! I would also like to extend my grati...tude to all the therapists that trust our trainings since 2009! The last in the series of SI 1 modules, the upcoming course brings together 15 years of teaching experience and clinical excellence. You will not only learn about the basics of SI but you will enrich your knowledge in neurosciences and sensory processing disorders and think both critically and creatively! The course has undergone several revisions over the years and greatly influenced by the work of Dr. Lucy Miller at the Sensory Processing Disorder Foundation and is presented in its yet more mature form! Several revisions will follow in the future and quoting Stattel “as we extend our hand to the benefit of mankind, may we seek further knowledge” 😊😊😊

Amazing new research!!
Dubai Sensory Integration 1: Theory, Neurosciences and Research. The course has been enriched to cover all the latest developments in the field! You will not only learn and the theoretical framework as developed by Ayres but expand your knowledge in modern Neurosciences that strengthen the theory and inform clinical decision making. Having studied Neurosciences at King’s College London, I am fascinated with recent developments in Multisensory Processing and Neuroplasticity that support Sensory Integration as a treatment modality and lay down new theoretical foundations!! This and much more will be explored and linked to clinical practice.
Dear parents, colleagues and SI supporters, this is a great example of bad and unethical medical practice. A neurodevelopmental paediatrician in Cyprus caused quite a stir yesterday amongst therapist and parent communities when he arrogantly posted that SI is not evidence-based and should never been used on it’s own as an intervention. Furthermore, he went on saying there’s no evidence to suggest its efficacy and any research in the field was part of bigger studies and not just on SI! To make matters more complicated he advised parents and doctors against the use of SI as a therapeutic intervention! ....attaching the original content ...(in Greek however but I have captured the essence above). It’s really frustrating to see such unethical and misinformed practice!
Hopscotch Treatment Intensives! We have been the first organisation in the UK to offer intensive therapy. Our intensive model has evolved over the years and now boasts an international clientele! We offer high quality intensive therapy tailored to the child’s individual needs rather than an standard package of services. Children enjoy a range of interventions from Ayres Sensory Integration, to neurodevelopmental Physiotherapy, to language and communication and munch more! All... interventions are child focused and happen under one roof in London’s Harley Street. As part of our intensive programme we strongly emphasise parent education and training so when families go back home, parents will know exactly how to support their children. Ongoing support is also available via Skype, email etc. For more information please call our offices on 0207 486 8168 or email dmylonadis@hopscotchtherapy.co.uk
