Excellent article that clearly outlines why we made the decision to move to barefoot on our yard as much as possible. Strangely enough I was talking to potential rehomers of Jasmine when looking at her feet today. If we had taken a picture it would have been an absolute match to the one on the left!!

Love it 😀

Well fridays horse is a little bit different and offers a different opportunity.
At Hopton Rehab and homing we won’t put our horses up for adoption until they are backed and we are happy that they have had a good start and good foundations.
The lovely Leo below is about to start his education and is looking for a sponsor who would possibly like to be involved with his backing and if suitable to take him on after.
... Is this something you think you could enjoy ? He is a super little horse with a lot to offer and no baggage !!
If you are interested come along and meet us on one of our open days 26th January or 3rd February.
All profiles and information on our rehoming process can be found on our website www.hoptonrehabhoming.org
Please share away. Thank you

With our own concerns, feature on the news, followed up by advice on Severn Edge Facebook and now this from thunderbrook feeds we need to take heed folks. Our equines need us to take unusual action with their diets for this time of year but we owe it to them to be vigilant and monitor accordingly. It’s not just weight, behaviour is changing too and I think it’s worth noting the feed value in our hay, as that made last year was some of the best hay ever. Therefore what they ar...e eating alongside this growing grass is tip top quality too therefore they are doubling up. At Hopton Rehab and Homing we spent all day yesterday moving our horses round to different paddocks in order that we can best control their individual needs. Still got more to do but we are trying to be as proactive as possible. A very concerned team here in these unprecedented times. Many of us have never experienced the extreme conditions of last year and I am sure many of us have never experienced the continual mildness of this winter before either. This is why we love Great Britain it keeps us all on our toes. Happy dieting folks but remember they still need plenty of roughage too.

Anyone looking for a super little horse to hack out with friends, do the odd fun ride/trek and generally enjoy a fun time ?
Then Tilly our Thursdays horse is your girl....this super little lady is really easy to do, hacks alone and in company. She loves her job and is forward going....no kicking this girl !!
She will also be your best friend as she loves a fuss and a cuddle and gets on well with mares and geldings.
... Tilly is for a hacking home only as her confirmation makes it hard for her to work in the school but not everyone likes schooling 😊
Interested ? Then pop along to one of our open days on 26th January or 3rd February and have a chat with us and meet some of our super horses and ponies looking for forever homes.
All information on rehoming and profiles of our horses are available on our website www.hoptonrehabhoming.org
Please share away and let’s find little Tilly a home. Thank you

Tuesdays pony looking for a companion home is the sweet and cuddly Fjord Freya who is just the most straightforward and easy girl to have around.
This pony absolutely loves fuss and attention and will stand all day to be pampered. She may even be ok to be lightly ridden maybe when the grandchildren come to visit ? 😊
She is a great babysitter and mixes well with mares and geldings. A super pony looking for a super home. Come and visit us on our Open days 26th January and 3rd F...ebruary.

Week 2 of our lovely horses and ponies looking for homes. And tonight’s horse is the lovely Tom a stunning and very successful ex racehorse. Tom has bags of character and actually chose his last mum himself 😊
Sadly Toms new mum has moved to France and Tom has therefore returned to the centre.
... Tom is a bright boy and needs a competent and relaxed rider as he can get a bit bright. He loves work and enjoys being out and about.
Please read Toms profile and if you think he may be the guy for you why not come and meet us and him at one of our open days on 26th January and 3rd February.
All information about our rehoming process and profiles of our horses can be found on our website www.hoptonrehabhoming.org

So the last horse for this week and by no means least is the gorgeous Trio a cracking 14hh British spotted gelding.
He is a real sweetheart and has just been added to the rehoming scheme after completing his rehabilitation programme. He is still green and needs an experienced rider to continue his education but he now has a super foundation with which to move on from and he will be a fabulous all rounder.
If you think that Trio May be the pony for you then come and meet us at... one of our open days on 26th January or 3rd February. All information on how to adopt and profiles of our lovely horses can be found at www.hoptonrehabhoming.org.
Please share away and let’s find this spotty dude a new family. 😊

After all the big boys I have posted the last couple of days Thursdays horse/pony is the sweet little Dolly ❤️
Dolly is looking for a home as a companion pony. She has never been backed but has been handled and sat on by children so in the right hands she may be suitable for riding.
She is a sweet and loving pony who is friendly and easy to do and gets on with mares and geldings.
... She would just love some little people to groom and pet her and be her best friend or equally to be nursemaid to another horse/pony.
If you would like more information on our rehoming process or any of our lovely horses and ponies, please visit our website www.hoptonrehabhoming.org or pop along to our open days 26th January and 3rd February
Please share and let’s get Dolly a new home ❤️

Wednesdays Hopton Rehab and homing horse Harvey is my absolute favourite. I have known this super boy for many years and watched him in action many a time.
He may be in his twilight years now but he has miles left in the tank and just loves to be busy and working. He is forward going and just loves being out.
Harvey has competed in dressage, show jumping and XC and attended riding club camps.
... Harvey does have some “special needs” though. He has mild Cushings which is controlled for a tablet a day this means his immune system is slightly compromised and therefore he needs careful monitoring of his diet.
Ideally Harvey would love a mum or dad that is as brave and bold as he is and wants to go and have some fun....albeit not at the level he used to do 😊
So if you think Harvey if the man for you come and visit us on one of our next open days 26th January or 3rd February. All details of our homing scheme and horse profiles are on our website www.hoptonrehabhoming.org
Please share away and let’s find Harvey a home soon 😊

Tracy T is going to organise a day at the races. Would any of our lovely FB and Twitter friends like to come along?

Tuesdays horse at Hopton Rehab and homing is the delightful Max. He has only been with us a couple of weeks and is still under assessment but he has become a firm favourite and we are sure won’t be here long. He would really suit a riding club home doing a bit of everything. He just loves to please.
So if Max is your man why not pop along and see us on one of our open days 26th January and 3rd February and we can see if you are a match !!
Please share away and lets get Max a... lovely new mum or dad to have some fun with 😊
