Year 10 completed checkpoint 1 of the Building My Skills Program with Harrison Spinks yesterday, where students were shown the types of careers available in this sector. Today, we supported the national #RestartaHeart campaign with a special event for Year 8 students. Restart a Heart aims to improve the low numbers of people surviving out-of-hospital cardiac arrests by increasing public awareness of them, as well as the number of people trained in life saving CPR. As such, all Year 8 students were taught emergency CPR procedures by professionals from the British Heart Foundation, British Red Cross, St John Ambulance, Yorkshire Ambulance Service and the Police. We were also lucky enough to also be visited by Deputy Lord Lieutenant, David Dinmore MBE, who wanted to come along to show his support for this important work. Thank you to all who supported today's event 🙌

Thanks to all those Year 11 students who came along to their Science intervention sessions after school today! Students strengthened their knowledge on covalent bonding and communicable diseases, as well as energy and electricity. They also had the opportunity to make copper sulphate - all in preparation for their forthcoming Pre-Public Exams! Great work guys! See you on October 17th for the next sessions!
