Horn Ok Please Description

In India, street food is a way of life. It is enjoyed by everyone and ranges from breakfast items such as omelettes to snacks such as samosas and pani puri as well as more substantial items such as sandwiches, wraps and burgers. We wanted to deliver this food, which is currently missing from the London food scene, in a unique and exciting way . . . the true feeling of eating on the go in India.
Horn Ok Please represents all that is colourful, inviting and joyful about eating on the go.
The name reflects an icon of the streets throughout India. . . the lorry. Lorries there are usually painted in bright colours and decorated with amazing art work ranging from animals to gods and of course the Indian flag. And in the back of the lorry is, almost always, the words ‘Horn Ok Please’ (or similar derivatives). The origins of this phrase is debatable: on theory is that the OK actually stands for On Kerosene. . . thus a warning to drivers to take caution and use the horn while passing; another theory is that the truck would have originally only had Horn Please but that Ok was added in the middle above the make of the truck which was usually TATA. Tata is a common way of bidding farewell in India. Whatever the origins of the phrase ‘Horn Ok Please’ has become synonymous with trucks, roads and India.
