Job Vacancy: Chef Full Time
The Horse & Groom require an enthusiastic Chef looking to make their mark in a small but busy country pub kitchen known for its excellent food and service. The successful candidate must uphold our 5* Food Hygiene Rating and reputation.
You will be responsible for kitchen matters and report into the pub owners.
... All food is home cooked and fresh with ingredients and produce sourced from local suppliers (desserts are sourced from a local patisserie due to staff and time constraints).
Our food service times are Tuesday – Sunday lunchtime & evening.
This is a full-time position with hours to be discussed and agreed within the food service times. Responsibilities will include menu preparation, food ordering, design and more.
There will be assistance from another Chef and/or Kitchen Porters.
Salary dependent on age and experience, an immediate start date may be available. Own transport or living locally is essential as there are no public transport services to the village and the role will involve split shifts during the week. This is NOT a live-in position.
Job Type: Full Time
Required experience: Minimum of one year as a working Chef and able to demonstrate key skills with a strong passion for food and menu preparation.

Went for lunch today for my dad's birthday treat . Meal was absolutely lovely .staff were very lovely and fantastic catering for my grandson too . Well recommended . fantastic all round . Will most definitely come again ☺

We are very lucky to have the Horse and Groom as our local, and we very rarely go anywhere else. Everything is great there, food, staff, surroundings etc. I dread the day when we hear that they have decided to up sticks and move on.

I would like to thank The Horse and Groom team for an excellent service today. We had a party of 38 for a special birthday and they laid on a superb carvery of which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. I visited last year with my parents while visiting them from Malaysia. Lovely location, generous servings and food was freshly prepared.

I contacted the pub again this week to see if I could arrange some vouchers as a birthday gift - sometimes difficult with me being overseas! Kelly was lovely and I can’t thank her enough - my payment was processed quickly and vouchers sent by registered mail and received by my Mum the next day!

Customer service is obviously important to them �

Very friendly and welcoming. Squeezed us in despite being busy. Great atmosphere. We had roasts from the carvery....full choice of meats and excellent variety of vegetables.

Lovely food and welcome as always here..staff always greet you and say goodbye when you leave..Miss Vintage Voice was good organised and sang nice variety, only wish there was bit more room to have a little dance after meal..nicely refurbished just hope they now do toilets and perhaps add on another loo as like a relay race if you want to go and baby change for littens too..summer always good here with bouncy castle in garden
