What a beautiful day to discover my absent chicken Kinder Surprise tending for her 16 surprise baby Chickens in the wood-shed! She was a surprise to us hence her name; and now she has just spectacularly repeated history! We have gone from 5 chickens to 28 in 3 months! Watch thus video when you need a bit of tranquillity in your life!

Creative Workshops 2017 Painting with Watercolours –Sept 27th Spend a day with watercolour artist Stephen Coates. His exciting and unique teaching methods will help you understand how to use the paint effectively. You will go home with a finished painting following a series of exercises and modules. Relax in a beautiful Derbyshire setting with all materials provided and gain inspiration from a leading watercolour expert.

The rain stayed away all day at Horsleygate Hall for Hannah and Gavin's wedding - which just goes to show that miracles do happen (or at least our little micro-climate came up trumps again)!

It's a time of plenty at Horsleygate Hall and we have had 2 sets of surprise baby chicks born on site and now we have expanded by 9!! So - let us know what your ideas for names are. Keep it clean! I loved Arty, Farty and Tarty as a suggestion but sadly the local fox got Arty and Farty and Tarty has proved her namesake by having 7 out of 9 baby chicks. They are all gorgeous and benefit from being handled so do come along for a stroke!

Gardens open Tuesday and Thursday in good weather until early Oct (not including August). £5 per person entry fee. Come and meet Birdie the elephant or bring a book and have a gorgeous, peaceful stay in our beautiful surroundings! Refreshments available to purchase.

It's been wonderful to host the wedding of our beautiful Jessica and Chris on such a perfect-weather weekend. We hope you enjoy some of the images in our album.
