Hostel 639

Very good experience with many friendly people. I also liked the staff, the room & other facilities :)

Very friendly atmosphere, plenty of facilities, I would recommend it for those who are looking for low price accommodation and dont wanna stay too far away from central London. The tube station is just opposite the hostel and in 15 m you are in Central London.

Also its very close to Notting Hill.

Very good connection with Central London transport! Nice Receptionist and very helpful staff!

They also have plenty of facilities, bar, restaurant and laundry.

Great value...very good connection with central London the tube is just in front of the Hostel. Very friendly staff, plenty of facilities, bar, restaurant, kitchens, WiFi and the breakfast is lovely.

It might be not the best hostel in London, But I never felt unsafe or disappointed by the guests around there. Consider that you can have breakfast for 1,20 pound and the average rate is around 12-13 pounds per night,.Knowin' pretty well London, never found better value. Especially of your are in London 4 workin' or studin'. Like anywhere else, just keep safe your belongings. Will be back soon. Grazie 639������

For me it was a good experience and I loved it.

I would give more star because I really liked to stay in this hostel, but the truth is there are very improvable things and I can't give it more.

Its staff is great! and you can meet a lot of friendly people from all the world and enjoy in its common areas. I prefer that to instead of comfort, for that I think this place will be nice for you depending of you are looking for.

Lousy low-security facility, with loud occupants and unexperienced clerks. Prices very low, though.

I've stayed here for 3 nights and they were the worst three nights of my life, at least for my nose. I couldn't breathe because of the smell. But the main problem was the shower. It was in the room. And I was sleeping with 6 other guys. So I didn't have privacy.

The great thing about this hostel (the only one) is that it is in the Zone 2, and it is very close to the tube!

If you want to stay in London and you don't want to pay so much, that's ok, stay here. But if you have the chance to stay somewhere else, do no stay here, please. You'll thank me.

Worst hostel in the world. Very dirty, awfull beds, you have to pay the wi-fi, most of the staff is very rude, exception for the girls in reception.. Never stay here.

This is by far the WORST hostel I've ever stayed in, and probably the worst hostel in all of London. The facilities were extremely poor! I've stayed in hostels in poor parts of Cambodia that were quite literally 10x better than this place. The male staff made us and my two friends who are female very very uncomfortable, because they kept staring at us for hours when we were hanging out in the commons area. I was not issued a receipt, and upon checkout was told that without a receipt I would lose my 10 pound deposit. After I asked the young lady with blond hair at the checkout counter for the owner or manager's contact information, she refused to give it to me due to the fear of repercussions from my complaint to her boss. I also asked for her name, so at the very least when I contacted my travel agency they would know who I talked to, but she also refused to give me her name. I wouldn't recommend this hostel to anyone!

Thief's, convicts and alcoholics. Staff is rude, barely speak English. Moved me to other room without informing, lost my things and don't take blame for that. And old cemetery view from window is not worst thing in here. Showers barely working, toilets always full of shit. Inside smells like dog shelter. This place should win shitiest hostel awards.

Terrible hostel. incredibly uncomfortable beds. Shower is inside the room with no space for changing! So pretty awkward if you're in a mixed dorm. Unhelpful and disorganised staff who keep all records with pencil and paper (rather than computer database) and consequently forget about your bookings. Would give it half a star if I could.

Staying at 639 was really horrible!!! It was dirty and smelled extremely bad - by the way, I am really not fussy - and as if this wasn't enough, we only met strange people in the hostel and, of course, had to share our room with them.

Don't go there, there are way better hostels where you can actually sleep without cuddling up your luggage! Most better hostels are even cheaper staying in a dorm room.

No way. Rooms are dirty, beds are old and uncomfortable, toilets stink, strange people staying there. Avoid it.

If it is possible for a hostel to catch something malignant, Hostel 639 has surely figured out how.



Unclean, unhelpful staff, previous occupants still in our room; Hostel 639 is the accomodation equivalent of a road accident.

I must say that this hostel is a shit hole and that is putting it mildly the rooms stink the bed linen is dirty. I checked in and then out within 10 minutes. Maybe health and safety should take a look at this place as with dorm beds there are no steps to the top bunk. So if anyone is considering checking in to this place book somewhere decent like ! Fresh at the crown in Clapham

I don't like giving bad reviews, but this place was really awful. The bathrooms were consistently dirty, there was never any soap in the dispensers, the beds were flimsy and there were no ladders to reach the top bunk, very loud music playing at night, beer cans left everywhere, people loitering outside the door and sleeping in the common areas, very disorganized check-in and check-out process. I felt very uncomfortable there as a woman, since young, loud men (many of them drinking and smoking) dominate every space. You're paying only a few pounds per night for a reason, but Hostel 639 really needs to make some major improvements. I would not come back here again, and I would not recommend it to anyone unless they really couldn't afford anything else.
