My favourite place to stay as well as the best Espresso Martinis in Brighton!

User

Just had our whole wedding at the hotel, amazing food, service and well looked after all night and morning!! Eat, drink and be merry.... Fantastic hotel. Thank you to all the staff for making it happen!

User

If I ever return to Brighton, I must stay at Hotel du Vin! Nicest staff at desk, bar, and restaurant. Plus, the most comfortable bed and bedding.

User

Had a great day at our friends wedding yesterday

Great venue and excellent food and wine

User

Great that a dog was allowed in bar and was given it's own water bowl. So thoughtful of staff to bring us an extra bowl of crackers as one of us couldn't eat the nuts. Well done!

User

From the moment we pulled up to ask for parking recommendations, we knew we had made the perfect choice. From taking our bags through to check out the staff were attentive, friendly, chatty and so helpful. Francesco welcomed us at reception and what a perfect host, his passion for the hotel was so refreshing and just what we needed after a long drive. We literally skipped up to our room and oh what a wow!! Beautiful room with a sea view. Our Vegan diet was catered for at breakfast, beautiful building with lovely touches and details. Can’t wait to return. Perfect location to wander around Brighton x

Amazing Hotel. Just had my wedding at the hotel. Could not recommended this hotel enough. Staff all so tentative and in every detail achieved above and beyond my expectations to perfection. I have stayed at this hotel a few times before and have had breakfast ,lunch and dinners , as always the meal for my wedding breakfast was to the same high standards. I can honestly say the Hotel and staff in every way made my wedding and stay perfect and I can not praise them enough.

User

We have a lovely afternoon tea! Service was good and staff were very helpful. Presentation was great. Donuts were over cooked but it didn't spoil my overall opinion at all. Would recommend to others

User

As this was a birthday present for my husband we did not know what to expect as we had never eaten at the Hotel before. We had a lovely time and was made very welcome. The food which was very enjoyable but noticed others around us were given a small basket of bread with there soup, this was not offered to us. The Steak which was cooked to my husband liking was very nice but would have preferred proper chips than skinny French fries.

User

It was average, firstly we were seated by the door in amongst dogs and children so we asked to be moved possibly to the restaurant, this wasn't possible but we were provided with a lovely table upstairs. We were served with a very few savoury bites, no usual finger sandwiches which I prefer to the sweet selection. We then received the sweet platter which looked stunning, however the scones were very dry and crispy, which I wasn't keen on and between 3 of us had one small pot of cream which was insufficient to say the least, we asked for more and were provided with another very quickly. We were unable to finish all the sweet delights as everything was extremely rich which didn't leave enough room for the rest so I would say we did not get our money worth. The tea was refreshed whenever we asked without a problem and the presentation was exquisite, candy floss added a look of luxury to all. We sat for about an hour with no service for drinks etc and nobody asking if we needed anything so I would say we were kind of forgotten although the staff were lovely, polite and accommodating.

All in all I would say if you want traditional afternoon tea don't go here, but if you want something different then maybe give it a try.

They also include service charge in the bill which I think is a bit cheeky if they haven't provided much, other than bringing your plates.

User

I love Hotel du Vin and have stayed in both the Bristol and Birmingham hotels a number of times and have visited the Cheltenham hotel often too. However, I didn't feel that Brighton matched the usual excellent standard I'm afraid. The decor was tired and shabby in the communal areas - dirty marks on the walls and scuffed, worn paint on the banisters. There were stains on the carpet in our room and the plug in the bath was blocked so that when showering, the water didn't drain and the bath filled up with water with soap and shampoo in it - not great. Having said this, the staff were all absolutely lovely throughout - everyone was friendly and welcoming and couldn't do enough to help - really excellent. The place is in dire need of a refurb though, and soon!

User

Had afternoon tea with 4 members of my family. Thought at the price they charge they could have afforded us with a tablecloth for our afternoon tea. We also had a gluten free request....when this option came out we were all amazed at how clumsy these sandwiches were and also one was filled with only pesto, pesto sandwich, not good! As one of the party had a wheelchair they used the disabled toilet which was not very clean and also not greatly accessible. Don't think we will go again

User

A little bit packed into tables ! Even though we asked to be sat on our own they said table was booked !! No one came the whole time we were there !! Farmers table nice Sunday lunch, burnt potatoes and Yorkshire puddings, I do love veg not to be over cooked but this had barely hit the hot water ! Would I go back NO !!

User

food lovely

service appalling

atmosphere very frenetic and too loud awful decor and layout

bar person on his phone not interested in serving

drink when it came very expensive bar a mess

waiter service none existent half the food advertised was off the menu

lots of waiters but mostly huddled together and moved around the place together in a small pack

paying bill a nightmare one waiter seems to think we would want to know all his woes , not we just needed to pay the bill and leave .

User

When we arrived and we went to the room, the room was very dusty and very hot. The room continue to be hot we used the fan but it made no difference. We did not sleep well because of the heat. The breakfast was cold and a lot of the selection was empty. We use travel lodge all the time and we will not be returning to this one.

User

Very disappointing room - travel lodge with driftwood. Not what you would expect having booked a junior suite.

That said the staff were very apologetic and comped a bottle of champagne and breakfast. I’d check and ask exactly what room you’re getting on booking to avoid similar disappointment.

Proximity to the lanes is good, the hotel bar was great and open 24 hours for guests..... makes this a 2 rather than a flat zero!
