We are now fully booked for our first week of the Ouseburn Holiday Club - part of Newcastle's Best Summer Ever.
There are only a few remaining places available for weeks 2, 3 and 4, please email admin@hotspur.newcastle.sch.uk if you would like to book. Please wait for an email to confirm your place or a place on the waiting list. Priority will be given to those booking all week.
If you have booked and later find you are unable to attend please let the school office know as ...soon as possible so we can offer the place to someone else.
Don't forget if you haven't already done so we need a completed Newcastle Active Card registration form for your child to participate - these are available at the school office.

Today we said goodbye to a wonderfully inspirational woman who has contributed so much to Hotspur over the last 28 years. We sang some of her and the children's favourite songs with wonderful harmonies accompanied by a brilliant band. Speeches were made - there was laughter and tears. Just when everyone thought it couldn't get any better the Baghdaddies appeared for a surprise finale. It was a wonderful way to end the term and a fabulous send off for a truly remarkable person.
This morning’s surprise finale from the Baghdaddies was a wonderful end to Jackie Davison’s last assembly. The children absolutely loved them.
This is today!
We still have spaces available for children to join the Ouseburn Holiday Club - part of Newcastle’s Best Summer Ever.
Each Monday - Thursday in weeks 2 to 5 of the holidays our PE and Sports Mentors, Ryan Redford and Hannah Travis, are running free sports clubs, including an exciting visit each Thursday to one of Jump 360, InflateSpace and Clip ‘n Climb. The days will run from 10am-2pm and include a free packed lunch. A chargeable wraparound session 8am - 6pm is available at... Treehouse.
To participate please register your child for a Newcastle Active Card at the school office as soon as possible and book sessions via School Gateway. If you have already booked you are still required to register for a Newcastle Active Card, please speak to the school office. Sessions are allocated on a first come first served basis, if you do not book in advance we cannot guarantee your child a place on the day as session numbers are capped.

Our first Hotspur Celebration Evening provided a chance to celebrate the achievements of our wonderful Y6. In between awards for achievement in a variety of subjects, children delighted their families with musical performances and dance routines. Hotspurs’ sporting successes were celebrated and special awards voted by the children were also shared.
We are recruiting for an experienced School Business Manager to cover maternity leave in our admin and finance team. Please see our school website for more details. http://www.hotspurprimary.co.uk/…/job-v ac…/job-vacancies-1-3
Following a wonderful family picnic, children embraced the Sports afternoon with excitement, enthusiasm and lots of energy. Well done to everyone for taking part and cheering on your House team mates so supportively.
Lovely to see so many families enjoying the Hotspur family picnic in the sunshine.
Our wonderful Y6 children walked through an arch of staff at the end of their leavers’ assembly today into the wide world beyond. An African proverb says that ‘It takes a village to raise a child’. Similarly it takes a school to nurture a pupil and help them to develop the resilience, knowledge, skills, confidence and attitudes to be ready to start Y7 at a new school. We wish them well on their next journey and delight in their uniqueness and individuality.
Due to our very wet field and weather forecasts for today we are postponing sports day. It will now be next Tuesday straight after the family picnic. The picnic will be from 12:00 until 1:00pm with sports day starting at 1:15pm. We apologise for the inconvenience of this - particularly if you have made specific arrangements to be there.
It was lovely to be serenaded by our ‘cello group this morning in Golden Assembly. They played a theme with three variations - each of which was written by one of our young ‘cellists.
This City of Dreams film features our Y6 children who formed the Buzzard Wings and performed their play about a young refugee arriving in Newcastle, as part of ’Our City Our Story’ at Live Theatre in March.
KS2 singing with our outgoing and incoming guitarist/teachers.
Y5 gave a fabulous performance of 1719 - the Jacobites and their Spanish allies converging upon Glen Sheil in the Western Highlands to prepare themselves for battle with the approaching Hanoverian troops. A brilliant opera with our friends Scottish Opera.
Please continue to send in donations to support our Summer Fair. From tomorrow you can bring in baked goods as well. Thank you to everyone who has supported with donations already. Not long to go until the fair. 🍰🍪🧁
Please send in donations to support our Summer Fair. Any prizes for the tombola including toys, toiletries, bottles of alcohol and gifts would be gratefully received. We are still collecting in classes for the sweet tombola – remember a prize awaits the class who collects the most. Finally, keep bringing in your Jolly Jars filled with goodies.
