Fact of the Week: In the Film “Escape from Alcatraz”, the dangerous escape down the prison wall and into the water was performed without stunt doubles! It was performed by #ClintEastwood, Fred Ward, and Jack Thibeau. The director even believed he had lost them at one point! #fact

Due to expansion we are currently looking for part time staff who can help us "behind the scenes" whilst also being friendly and able to interact with customers as and when required.
Evenings and weekends are our busiest times, with this in mind, the right candidate will be:
Enthusiastic... Polite Helpful have a willingness to learn Able to carry out Methodical "resets" in a short space of time Use initiative in unexpected situations Able to work evenings and weekends (all day Saturday / Sunday)
For the right candidate we offer a friendly working environment, along with optional pension scheme and other fun employee benefits.
Please note, this is not a role for a Game Master - although there is the opportunity for the right candidate to progress in time.

Sera, Sharan, Mark and Dave fought their way to become the UK national champions last year, a repeat of their success in the 2016-17 competition, with the addition of Dave as their new teammate.
We’re particularly proud that Sera is one of Houdini’s own, working as our Design and UX Co...nsultant on the many exciting projects we have in the pipeline, some of which we’ll be announcing very soon!

Wow! Having done over 100 rooms now, it’s rare for a room, or rooms, to take my breath away and truly leave me feeling amazed! The two rooms here are amongst the most immersive ones we’ve done, and when coupled with genuinely passionate and enthusiastic hosts, this really ranks up there as one of the best!

Went with friends for a birthday celebration and had a fab evening together. We really enjoyed the experience and had a laugh trying to solve the puzzles to escape and make it onto a lifeboat as we did the Titanic experience. Definitely be back to do Alcatraz soon. Thanks for the experience and glad to say we made it safely onto a lifeboat, albeit with only 20 seconds to go.

We went to play the Titanic room a few weeks ago and oh my word!!!! What a unique experience!!! I won't spoil anything but it had a few elements that completely blew my mind and that I still can't get over how brilliant they were. Not seen something like that before and didn't think it would be possible to pull off but they did it. We knew the Houdini's team had been working on Titanic for quite a while and it was certainly worth the wait. Build more rooms please :-)

The moment you step through the front doors from the pavement you know this is going to be an experience



All the staff were fantastic the whole way through



The room had a wide variety of clues, it wasn’t all just padlocks and keys



I would 100% recommend it to anyone

This was my first ever escape room and I really didn’t know what to expect. Houdini’s definitely exceeded all possible expectations. Such a thrilling experience, I can not recommend it enough! Everything is set out so cleverly and thoughtfully. I think I will struggle to find an escape room as good as this one now! The bar has been set so high. Thank you to the lovely family that run this, you made the experience what it was!

This room was so fun! My first experience and definitely not my last. The family running it are so lovely and drop you some hints if you’re struggling. The free sweets/popcorn and drink is also a great added extra. Would definitely recommend this for something different and quirky to do.

Thank you Houdini’s for such an exciting escape room experience. The decor and puzzles were brilliant and India was very friendly and helpful. We escaped from Alcatraz and look to escape from Titanic very soon too!

Just completed the titanic escape room, had the best time and the whole experience, from the hosting, the atmosphere, the attention to detail and the intricate rooms was a ten out of ten experience, would highly recommend and can’t wait to try out there Alcatraz room, luckily I lived to tell the tale and didn’t go down with the ship.....

Have done many escape rooms within Southampton and must say Houdini is an amazing place. Not only two out of two top class rooms that leave us feeling so immersed and excited but the extra miles they go with their customer service.

Had this booked for me as a birthday present and all I can say is you must go and experience it. The attention to detail is amazing, from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave you are in a whole other world... a truly immersive experience. The guys there really looked after us the whole time we were there from the free tea, coffee, soft drinks to the popcorn and skittles, they have really nailed this.... go and experience it for yourselves, you will not be disappointed.... we will be going back for their new titanic experience in April

Had a great time doing Escape from Alcatraz last night! It was great fun and a little crazy! Very welcoming with drinks and a fab briefing room to set us up! It certainly gave our brains a workout! Really enjoyed by all our group. Looking forward to returning again to do Titanic. We'll done Drew and the team for great entertainment.

Great evening escaping Alcatraz. Puzzles are imaginative and varied. Staff are really friendly and get into character. We will be back to do the Titanic room.

From the moment you walk in you can see the thought and care thats gone into the whole experience. Always a warm welcome from the lovely staff, with drinks on arrival and snacks in the briefing room. Have played both Alcatraz and Titanic now and they were both interesting and challenging in different ways. I liked the story telling aspect, and attention to detail in the surroundings (Titanic decor was fab and with the atmospheric sounds it really felt like being on the ship). It was also great that you can play Titanic with a minimum of 2 players as its hard to find escape rooms to do as just a couple.

First went in yesterday to do the Alcatraz room, amazing atmosphere as you walk in. Incredibly friendly and lovely staff who make you feel at home. So good we went back tonight to do the Titanic room, couldn’t recommend enough �

Brilliant friendly and enthusiastic staff. From the moment we entered the video room and got offered popcorn and skittles to finishing with 1.5 minutes to go , thanks to a series of helpful clues. A well thought out escape room and amazing attention to detail. Definitely recommend a visit .

Brilliant experience, starts as soon as you walk in the door. Did it for my sons 12th Birthday, mixed group including a 9 day old baby! Would definitely do again!

Alcatraz, best escape room I've done so far, keeps you on your toes throughout. Attention to detail is brilliant, really puts you in the moment. Will be coming back soon to do the Titanic room.
