Meet Wilfred. He was a stray being fed by some kind people but they were moving away and couldn't take him. We thought he would be a difficult cat but we couldn't have been more wrong. He's a total cuddle bug. He's still at one of our vets after being neutered and the vet nurses love him and get him out for cuddles at every opportunity. He heeds a home and if anyone is interested please fill in the adoption application form on our website. Please check our areas of coverage and adoption requrements before completing the forn.
We have some fantastic dwarf hamsters looking for new homes. There are four singles and two in a pair. They are very friendly and easy to handle. Some can come with their cage for a small extra donation. If you are interested contact Lu: Lucius.covell@gmail.com
Sorry to say this law was not passed. https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/ 229004
We have a young, affectionate tabby girl who would like to be an only cat available for re-adoption... Please see and share the story below...
Foster Home experienced with guinea pigs needed. These two brothers have come back to me as their fosterer was unable to continue fostering. They are very nervous having not be handled before coming in to us and need a fosterer with the time to spend with them and get them used to being handled. Would need to be in SW London or Surrey. They can come with cage and toys and we pay any veterinary costs. If you are interested please email Lu on Lucius.covell@gmail.com.
We are on the hunt for bunny fosterers again. We have taken in thirteen bunnies in the last week and have more on the waiting list. We are looking for fosterers in South West London or Surrey preferably who have access to a car. You can foster inside or out but will need the time and space. All vet cost are paid by us. If you are interested please contact Lu: Lucius.covell@gmail.com
Sometimes cats we are helping really don't appreciate our efforts !! This little girl was left at one of our vets with an untreated skin condition. She's being treated but to stop her scratching and licking off the medication she's been put in a little jacket. She is not impressed !!! She will forgive us when she feels better.
A day in the life of bunny rescue. Six six month old female bunnies that have been living in a two storey indoor cage. They stink of pee and have matts on their feet but otherwise seem okay. This is what happens when un-neutered rabbits are allowed to free range together. We have temporarily penned them together until they see the vet later today. Fingers crossed they are all girls.
We have some lovely guinea pig pairs for rehoming now. Guineas make great pets but we do advise they are kept inside in a large cage and have access to an indoor run and an outdoor one if possible in the warmer weather. They are not complicated to look after and we can explain the best way to keep them and what you need. It is impossible not to be cheered up by guinea pig calls (wheeking) when you are preparing their supper.

after adopting 3 roborovski hamsters the care and support has been lovely .A worthwhile charity .
Yes they have passion to save animals and deserve recognition and support for this vocation.
Wonderful smooth adoption process had our lovely Guinea pigs within a week. A very good charity smoothly run
Would definitely recommend anyone adopting a pet from this charity x
We homed our beautiful Duchess Liliana from these guys. They were informative and helpful, helping us find the perfect addition to our family. Superb.
We have signed our adoption papers today! Our 2 years old pet rabbit Picco now has Roxy as a lovely companion. We were fully supported throughout the process - from our first contact with HAWS via email through the home visit and several phone calls and messages whilst they were bonding. Thank you to Lu and Sara for all the encouragement and never-ending patience to all our questions. Do not shop, adopt! It's an amazing feeling. We can't recommend HAWS highly enough!
We have adopted 4 gorgeous kittens from HAWS and I think they do an amazing job finding their forever homes. What I like is that the animals live with foster parents and so are used to being a family environment, making the transition easier when they come to be adopted. A thoroughly well deserving charity that I'm proud to support.
This is a late post as I adopted my 2 boy brother kittens back in September- however I still wanted to share how amazing the HAWS charity is. The whole process from the friendly house check (Joanna) through to when I picked my fur babies up from the wonderful foster Mum (Jolene). You can tell how devoted they are to the animals and want what is best for them - I would highly recommend this charity
The reasons why I support HAWS:
HAWS is a most excellent animal charity with a no-kill policy, an animal will not get euthanised for as long as s/he can have a decent quality of life. This is why the charity is always straining under the economic weight of enormous vets bills.
The charity is made up by volunteers and relies on donations. The bulk of its income is spent on the animals: food, visits to the vets, medication, rescuing, etc. HAWS do not even have professional stationary or uniforms, as they much rather that money went to the animals.
It really is a great charity, completely deserving of all the support it can get.
My whole adoption process with HAWS was fantastic and I would highly recommend rescuing over buying to anyone interested in getting a new pet. Craig and Emma were amazing foster parents who clearly care about their cats and put a lot of love and time into the process. I can’t thank them enough.
Mitzi and her late son Harry were from HAWS in 2013, early. They settled in well here and have been lovely cats. Sadly Harry died this year (of illness), so we now want a companion for Mitzi. HAWS were very helpful last time ...
Just adopted Ben and Bettina. Roz was amazing. Very kind and informative. They are shy as ex strays but they can take all the time they need. Xxx
I got my 2 ginger boys from HAWS.
Rhubarb and Custard!
They are a delight.
I adopted my bunny Max last year, he’s a real sweet and loving hapoily with his wifey Tia, highly recommended rescue
HAWS never tire of helping pets. I just hope they can continue their good work. Bless you all at HAWS.
Great group of dedicated supporters!
Great charity, we have just adopted our 3rd kitten.
Their charity ethic and that they have a no kill policy is just amazing
every animal matters
keep up the good work HAWS !!
Fantastic charity. Dedicated to the animals. Volunteers work so hard and every animal is loved and cared for.
Caring and lovely people. I adopted two kittens recently and they were very helpful and everything went very smoothly. The kittens are adorable!
