The second of our brand new swinging sections of track is now complete! This should give you a smoother ride for when we re-open in March! ----- Track work is just one of the many essential jobs carried out over the winter months. No matter how many people are around helping, that one extra pair of hands is always useful! Why not become that pair of hands!? Are you or someone you know interested in joining? Now that the new year is firmly upon us we can start counting down the days until our first open day of the season. As of this moment there are only 74 days left! We best get on and get everything ready! You may notice a few changes here and there when we re-open in the spring!

Our volunteers are vital to keeping the railway running by carrying out the multitude of tasks that are presented over the winter and running periods. These inclu...de, track and rolling stock maintainance, general grounds work(gardening etc.), the up keep of our club hut and many more tasks. The list is ever growing! Would you be willing to give up a hour or two here and there to help us? There are many perks to becoming a member of our society, these can be found along with an application form on our website.

Whilst closed for the winter our volunteers take on new projects as well as carrying out essential winter maintenance on our rolling stock and track! Here is an example of just one of this winters projects- making the tunnel more ‘tunnel like’!

🚂Hi All! 🚂 Say hello to the newest member of our fleet... 37001! You may have seen this loco operating on our track before, however due to various circumstance the club has decided to purchase this loco! We look forward to operating trains with it next season! Due to its power we're thinking of dubbing it the "Queue Buster" Let us know what you think below! 👇👇👇

Even the wind can wreck havoc on little railways! Two branches have blown down across the track! Luckily there appears to be no damage!
While this may not be a regular occurrence at the railway essential tasks (such as removing fallen trees) are carried out at the railway over the winter/ early spring period.
