Hub Description

The Hub St Ives is situated in the heart of the town, we are a well established feature on the harbour front and an essential stop off for great coffee, fabulous cakes and amazing food. In the evening we are the ideal place for fantastic burgers or just to sip cocktails or sample one of our local and international craft beers and watch the world go by.
We have a modern menu of really delicious burgers made in house from aged Cornish rare breed beef, a range of local seafood and seasonal specials. Our hot dogs are New York style but produced in the UK using 100% free range pork, oak smoked and seasoned with paprika, nutmeg & black pepper. Our burger and hot dog buns are produced by artisan ‘Baker Tom’ and delivered fresh everyday. As you can see our food is something we are fiercely proud of.

It's official, it's happening... Hub St Ives is back.
Our new vibe features the very best of the South West, with the walls overflowing with the work of local artists, Sam Basset , Joe Greenaway & Mark Foreman. Who have been working to create bespoke pieces that can only be found at Hub St Ives and are best admired with a pint in hand, looking out over the harbour...
Not only have we refreshed the look and feel of the restaurant & bar, but there are some banging new additions... sliding onto our menu.
With flat iron steak, monkfish kebabs and smoked bbq ribs making an appearance on our new barbecue grill.
We are now open as normal, so come in and have a nose around, we can't wait to see you... its been too long!

We are still on the hunt for some new crew members here at Hub St Ives... If you're passionate about hospitality and looking for a seasonal or permanent job with a local restaurant then get in touch!
If you know someone who would fit right in, make sure you tag them below!

Some of you may have noticed, somethings missing from outside the Hub.
We would like to shout out to the Cornish collaboration that designed, created & painted this piece of art especially for the closure of Hub St Ives.
So raise a pint of proper Cornish ale to these local legends MEOR Design, Josh Vyvyan and Joe Greenaway!
... Although it's been an emotional farewell to our fishy friend, the removal of this artwork can only mean one thing, the long-awaited re-opening of Hub is finally in sight... We will see you at the bar dreckly!

You've heard of friends with benefits, how about an office with benefits? ( no, not those kinda benefits! )
Geddon down to the Salvation Army (right next to Hub St Ives) for our recruitment day tomorrow, Wednesday 27th to be part of the Hub Crew. We have both permanent and seasonal positions available so no need to cancel that winter break to South East Asia.
If you can't make it down, don't panic. Just pop us an email at info@hubbox.co.uk and attach your CV & include a bit about just how great you are!

User

All hail these local legends!
The Art Deco exhibition was held at Porthmeor Studios, a short walk from Hub St Ives. The exhibition featured work of Joe Greenaway who has recently been let loose on the walls of Hubbox Taunton, Hubbox Exeter and most recently the exterior of our very own harbourfront site!
You can still check out their work via the link and get bidding, 100% of the proceeds go to the St Ives Skate Park.

User

We may not be open in St Ives this March, but you can still get your Hub Burger to fix at any of our Hubbox sites across the South West, the closest of which is just up the A30 in Truro!
Follow Hubbox Truro for all the latest March news and deals to make sure you don't miss out on Specials like these...
Because let's face it, somethings just can't wait.

See if you can tell which people here are Royal Marines and which are Hubbox...a tough one, this. Grant, our Head of Food (no beret, with apron) cooked up burgers yesterday for the boys (in camouflage) who were training on Pentewan Sands. We're gearing up for Hubbox Pentewan's opening this season on March 27th #RoyalMarines #Burgers #PentewanSands #StAustell

Went to the Hub St Ives today for the first time. It won't be the last. Because of some unusual travelling over the last few weeks I have been to Exeter and Truro Hubs as well.

At the risk of igniting a cooking war St. Ives has taken the title of best Hub. EVER.

The Hub Cooler was supremely tart.

The dirty fries were so dirty they defy description ...but there was a very generous serving of hub sauce on them...which tipped them into winning place as far as they were concerned. As for the Chicken wings with HBX sauce...they have been good in every Hub but St.Ives had the best char on them which elevated them to a different level.

As for the staff.....they have been brilliant everywhere( one of the assets of the company) but Sam in St.Ives takes some beating. Top notch.

May the inter-restaurant rivalry commence!!!!!

Visited today for lunch, don't know how I've missed this place for the last however many years I've visited St Ives.

Lovely, friendly, smiley staff, which is a rarity these days! We sat on the balcony which was great to enjoy the beautiful bay & people watch.

Your choice of Veggie & Vegan burgers is spot on - Fed up of boring, overcooked Veggie burgers being the only thing on offer...

The Bella Burger was really tasty, great combination of textures & flavours, as were the giant Onion rings!

Have told my Cornwall loving friends, and Veggie friends to come & check you out.

Will definitely visit your restaurant nearer to home in Bristol soon.

Perfect location with outdoor seating area on the first floor. Delicious food and cocktails.

User

It’s not a holiday unless we go to the Hub , food is great, staff are lovely , great atmosphere and dog friendly ( even given a dog biscuit by a member of staff)

User

I went for Lunch with the Ladies & it was incredibly busy but got a table in 10mins which was great ...waited for our friend to arrive & we were warned it was going to a 40minute wait for food ..which was fine as we're catching up having a great time ..till the wall of hunger stepped in then we all were watching everyone coming down the steps...finally our food arrived and gone in minutes it was Gorgeous & soo filling & lovely cold Estrella to wash it down..worth every penny Awesome food , great service

User

Fab service! Great food!

We were greeted by a petite brunette who was very friendly and really caring towards our petite ginga ninga (11mth)

The rest of our time we were looked after and catered for by a lovely young lady with mousy brown hair tied in a ponytail.

She was extremely helpful and apologetic about our wait and advised us of a delay.

Thankfully we didn’t have to wait too long for our spectacular, delicious food to arrive.

The kids enjoyed it all and devoured it! As did we!!

My 11 month old, Baby LED Weaned girl smashed a lot of her ‘KIDS MEAL’ but sadly not it all.

There was plenty of food and lots staff to reassure we had everything we needed.

My advice would be to go more baby friendly but offering a finger food options to the babies who are swarking and waiting for food to cool/ be ok to eat xx

User

Came here yesterday for our Wedding Anniversary meal. Seated at a table very fast and the waiter came over right away to serve us. The grilled chicken burger we had were excellent and dull of flavour.

Keep up the great work and we will visit again next year when we come back.

User

Amazing place to stop for a meal, you won't leave hungry, lovely staff

User

We have been visiting here for years have always enjoyed great food and service love how they allow the dogs inside.. how ever visited today and slightly disappointed service slow forgot 1 of our drinks so the nice waitress was very apologetic and removed it from the bill.. wasn't until we left and looked at the bill the side of mac and cheese i had orderd we had been charged for a main one.. so to sum up the coffee was nor free..

User

We come to St Ives at least twice a year and the Hub is generally a favourite. Your food is delicious and when we first came we would have defintiley given you a 5 star rating. But you dropped your pickles and coleslaw off the plate. They gave you the edge - the 5 star treatment, the extra bit that made you different to every other burger place. I know you still have them on the menu but now we have to pay extra and there's too many of them in a portion. Just a taste of each was all you needed. The cost of throwing a spoonful of each on a plate surely can't be that much. I think then people would happily buy your other sides such as your yummy cup of chilli. Bring back the pickles and coleslaw as standard. Please! Xxx

User

Nice place. Great food as always. Nice to see they have ditched their plastic straws. Don't sit by the door upstairs in the winter, it's a bit chilly with the frequent comings and goings of staff and customers. Fun place to eat and have a drink. Will be back again

User

Lovely food, huge portions and can recommend the Kim Yun Chick burger

User

Went for breakfast and very disappointed. Served on a metal dish which meant the food got cold very quickly. Tiny portion, half a slice of toast a tomato, sausage fried egg very thin slice of fatty bacon an egg, hash brown and some weird sausage patty does not equate into a traditional Cornish breakfast. Will not be returning.

User

We have been visiting St Ives and the Hub now for many years but tonight I think we went for the last time. Service was appauling had to ask for my childrens drinks twice before they finally arrived. We were told when we got there that there was no ice cream so the milkshakes we ordered were just chocolate milk, we were also told as part of the menu we could be given some brownies for the children as there was no ice cream. This was never mentioned again infact as soon as we had finished our burgers we were asked if we wanted the bill, no desserts were offered at all not even the children. So we paid £1.95 for each childs milk shake without ice cream so just chocolate milk and £6.95 for childs meal with an icecream they couldnt supply. No reduction in price was offered. Crayons were offered twice but never arrived and I had to get up after our food was delivered to ask for cuttlery as none was given to us and there were no staff to ask. Whats happened? This used to be a great place to go but not anymore :(

User

The food was ok, but we had an hour wait for food. Spent an hour sat without a drink, trying to get a waitresses attention, then when we finally did get someone’s attention, had a further 20 minute wait just for half a lager and an apple juice, by which time we’d eaten our meals and were ready to leave! No apologies from staff, no checking if our food was ok.. spot the waitress.. couldn’t even track someone down to complain to!

Nice food, appalling service, won’t be going again!

User

Very disappointed. Waited over half an hour for drinks to turn up, nachos starter were saturated in grease and cold. Then told due to being busy (which it was) our mains would be about half an hour. About 30 mins later I was told they had run out of the ingredients to the burger I had ordered. When our food did arrive it was almost inedible because of the grease on it. Felt awful for the staff as they were getting grief left, right and centre. Disappointed more than anything because we know how good the hub normally is

User

Sorry guys you used to be much better. The young lady who was our waitress said sorry about the service, but there was no real reason for why you took an hour to produce a burger and chips and the chicken dish my wife had. I was given a loyalty card to come back and have a free burger, but that assumes I will return.
