We booked a large table for a work event and we can not rate this place any higher. Everyone’s food arrived all together in good time and was absolutely lovely. The waitress Jocelyn was so attentive and couldn’t do enough for us all. We all had mains and desserts which were gorgeous and the jugs of cocktails were amazing. Thank you hubbox!!

Stopped in with a mate for Tea

After a long long day at work and craving a milkshake!

Lovely service as always, our pup Bruce was welcomed inside as it it was quite quiet. Good speedy service, tasty real food.

We were pleased to see a bowl of water appear for Bruce without having to ask and all the staff gave him lots of attention!

We will return as and when we need a shake!

The opening times on your Facebook are website are different by the way!

I popped in with my husband for a quick lunch and had the Mack Daddy, it was so tasty, could eat it everyday, and the onion rings - proper onions, delicious.

User

Great burger (All Star) with cheesy fries and a pint of Cornish lager. Bit if a wait but who cares, we’re on holiday

User

Came in for a quick lunch while in Truro shopping with a friend, the restaurant was busy but we were quickly seated by the lovely staff. The food was delicious and the drinks equally as good!! We ended up staying for far longer than intended as we felt so welcome and really enjoyed being in a busy, friendly environment. Will definitely return and recommend to all of my friends!!

User

Amazing food, service such a great atmosphere and dog friendly we sat outside on such a beautiful day and ate such great food. Thanks guys top job

After a few negative reviews it seems they've upped their game. First time for me after hearing lots of good reviews. Loved the chilli burger and the chips were skins on - tasted great, all our food was awesome. Waitress didn't seem to know what was going on half the time and it wasn't particularly busy. But a ditsy waitress wouldn't put me off going back so long as they sort any mistakes out quick, which she did. Not particularly quick service, but as the food was awesome and wasn't too badly priced, I'll be back!

User

Absolutely incredible food ! The best burger we have ever had ! As we were here for a getaway were just dissapointed that there isn't one closer to us near Birmingham! Please do this soon so we can have another amazing burger !! Highly recommend to everyone and the staff were so lovely and friendly

User

We went there today was very disappointed, not the Hubbox we once knew, started off with some milkshakes very runny not malty and thick like they use to be,after waiting 45mins for our food it was barely warm, and found a hair in the melted cheese on the chips! Very unlikely to visit again!

User

Started brilliantly, with a wonderful greeting and delicious raspberry drink.

But (and not for the first time!) scorched dry and burnt oil flavored chips. And the lettuce was not fresh..brown edged and soggy!

The waiter told me 'a story' about twice frying for that special taste on the chips...however, I was not born yesterday, and could smell the BS. However he did offer us a fresh batch of chips, which were delicious. The salad not so!

Love the interior design...but everything all a bit sticky to the touch.

I think attention to food cooking temperatures and cleaner surfaces needs to be sorted...

The waitress who gave us the bill was really understanding and sweet...I hate to be picky...but please, Hub Box, don't become mediocre...you're' too cool for that!

User

Sadly nowhere near as good as it was when you were on lemon quay. Feel you guys have sold out quite a lot. Was very disappointed with my recent visit, food was very expensive and not really that nice, greasy chips, buns were ok but not great, burger was average. portions small and don't get me started on drinks. Doubt I'll be back anytime soon and wont be recommending until you sort your quality of food. Go back to your roots and don't forget where you started. It was great then. Not so much now.

User

Well, Hubbox Truro.... It's been nice knowing you. I've known you sinse you was born and now we have grown apart. Seriously though, after carefully measuring your meals with my belly, I have decided that your organisation has Gorton greedy. Greedy is good when it comes to food but not when you become greedy with customers money. Your portion sizes have shrank considerably and prices have gone up. Going BIG was your downfall... I hope you can live with that. Time for me to move on and find someone as 'INTO' food, as you once were

User

Visited this place purely on the back of the good reviews it has collected, and to an extent the reviews are correct it certainly lives up to its name having great Atmosphere brilliantly thought out decor With a Constant flow of customers . Found the food nothing special certainly not worth a return trip for as my veggie burger wasn’t unpleasant but cold inplaces and lacked any favour , the chips had either been reheated or cooked in dirty oil .

For two burgers and chips accompanied by a couple of drinks £32 I would have expected a better standard of food .

User

Gone from a regular to never again! Don’t know if you’re buying cheaper meat, but the pulled pork burger used to be the best ever, really delicious, but is now just chewy chunks of fat, it’s gross and also overpriced.Such a shame...but I am obvz not the only customer who has noticed?! How many customers will you lose before going back to the great food you USED to provide?

User

First time I’ve been back in quite a while. Won’t be returning again in a hurry. Service was good, but the food was terrible. New menu seems to have sacrificed all the things that made Hubbox great. I had a chicken burger that had so much sickly garlic sauce on it, it was barely edible and spent most of my meal scraping it off to find the chicken buried underneath. The chips weren’t cooked properly and most of them had that horrible raw hard bit in them, that you get from supermarket oven chips. My partners nachos were covered in some hideous cheese sauce that was not detailed on the menu and again she spent most of her meal trying to scrape it off. Service was good. Which saves it from one star, but if your looking for this kind of food it’s hard to get better than Sam’s. sorry to say Hubbox, you’ve lost your way.

User

Delicious fries, however I had to ask for them twice and they arrived after the rest of our food. Nachos were very disapointing - the tortilla chips were greasy and tasted of old cooking oil, the refried beans on top of them were very cold. The salsa and guacamole were nice, however because of the other issues these were the worst nachos I've had in a long time. The staff were friendly but didn't really respond to the feedback I provided. Unfortunately it felt like your standards have slipped since I last visited.

User

Today was the last chance I've given the hubbox. I really hoped a new menu might've meant you'd upped your game. I can't fault the staff, they're always very helpful and friendly, but the food is terrible, time after time. It's overpriced, unimaginative and the waits are too long. Go and try the meat counter in Falmouth, they know how to do it right. Or craftworks kitchen in Truro. I've tried multiple menus including your Christmas menu and I just don't understand how you can do such a poor job. Since you have multiple branches, I've felt there's no point complaining in store, it's not the fault of the staff and the chefs, it's whoever is writing these menus. Very disappointed :(

User

So, Beef Chilli Nachos - steer clear!

They came out and I wasn't aware of no guac with these nachos (my mistake) but then when I asked where the salsa was, the waiter told me it didn't come with any. The menu corrected him on this.

So, after getting the nachos back it now looked more like a £9 plate I'd ordered, I decided to dig in.

Turns out that it looks like it's been sitting on a hot plate for quite a while, as the cheese had welded itself to the metal plate - ok, not the end of the world - if the nachos themselves wheren't deep fried... and I'm not even sure what they were made of. Well, there's a first time for everything.

Now, after this, I found that halfway through I was struggling to finish (bear in mind I arrived very hungry) and starting to feel tired - put down to the warm weather (the slight sweat was also not due to the non-spicey chilli nachos!) weird.

So, I got back to work and within 10 minutes was on the toilet... no more explanation needed, the whole experience was not very nourishing! I've lived in countries where mild food poisoning is common, but here in the UK? Didn't think it was a thing. Usually I would have recogmnised the signs as I was eating - I must be slipping.

So thanks, Hubbox, terrible nachos and food poisoning? Definitely not recommending to anyone - in fact the opposite. I've been reading other comments about dropping standards, now it seems food hygiene is an issue to!

I was totally disappointed yesterday when I visited hubbox. Previously we have had nice meals here, this visit certainly could not be described as that!

Firstly my burger came with cheese on when I had ordered it without so I sent it back. The burger it’s self was ok but when it came back the chips were either reheated or cooked in old oil because they tasted horrible! I could not bear to send it back again so wasted £3 on inedible chips. Throughly disappointed. I felt hungry when we left even though usually I feel fit to burst! My partner said the same so you have clearly downsized the food whilst upsizing the price!
