About Huddersfield Elim Pentecostal Church

Love God, Love His people, Love His world.

Huddersfield Elim Pentecostal Church Description

The Elim Pentecostal Church in Huddersfield was formed in 1931 when evangelist George Jeffreys visited the town with a message of salvation and a demonstration of The Holy Spirit’s presence in Pentecostal power.
Today the church, in the heart of Huddersfield, has developed into an international congregation of all ages, but it continues to reflect its roots in its core values. Pentecostal by doctrine and practice we reach out with the good news of Christ in our services, through small groups, in schools and out on the streets. The Bible remains central to all our beliefs and practices and we are committed to prayer and maintaining a consistently strong children’s and youth work.
Our Sunday morning services offer you the chance to meet in a friendly atmosphere of both fellowship and worship with a full range of children’s activities from a crèche to a group for high schoolers.
We are a servant-hearted church, providing practical care in the community and touching those on the fringes of society, including ministering to refugees, asylum seekers and those with drug and alcohol problems.
Our desire to see people growing in their faith in Christ is seen in our weekly programme of events. These range from children’s and youth meetings to an over 50s group. We have many small groups in different areas around the town as well as groups for men, women and different ethnic groups. We run training and equipping courses as well as having informal groups such as a football team.
There is something for you.

We're looking forward to an exciting Sunday:
Firstly, we hope you and your friends and family can join us for our Guest Service at 10.30am at Grace Centre when Andrea Dalton will be speaking. It's a great opportunity for anyone not familiar with church or Christianity to come along and see what we do.
Then, at 12.30pm onwards, at Oasis Centre (opposite the Leisure Centre) we’re holding an event to celebrate Refugee Week with foods from different cultures served and items of entertainment like poetry and music. There is a recommended donation of £5 per adult, £10 per family towards the cost of the food and our asylum and refugee work. All are welcome.

Ladies, don't forget that on Friday at 7.30pm onwards at Grace Centre we have Helen Cobham taking our next Breathe meeting. We hope you can join us for a relaxing summer's evening - whatever the weather - in God's presence. Do feel free to bring a friend.
Please click 'going' on the event page if you know you'll be there, so it helps us cater for the right numbers (there will be a free gift and something fruity for all who attend!).

Hi all I’ve written an article called ‘Don’t throw away your confidence’ based on Hebrews 10:35 for June’s encounter got it finished last week. Sat at conference this week about to listen to Gavin Calver and what does he preach on Hebrews 10:35. He does a better job than my article but got me thinking if God might be saying something to us. Well worth a watch he starts at 50:00 minutes into the video.

From Sunday's service:
How do we I tune into the Spirit at work each day:
1. Pray and ask God how do I use my work to make a difference today.... 2. Pray for my fellow co-workers. 3. Focus on my unique mix of God given gifts at work today. 4. Identify what makes my work a calling each day. 5. Look and listen for the God moments in my day. 6. Ask God to help me identify where the Spirit is moving at work today. 7. Periodically review my attitude. 8. Solicit feedback from others on how I am growing spiritually. 9. Make friends with the people I work with. 10. Be a witness for Jesus – move people closer to His kingdom – not away!
