What adjectives can I use about Hughes Electrical of Ely? Wonderful, caring, very professional, good knowledge of merchandise and above all will not stop until they beat a problem. My wife and I experienced all these things when we purchased a home surround system which packed up overnight. Basically, it was turned off when we went to bed but would not work next morning. I contacted the shop, explained the problem and they got an engineer out to us very quickly. He thought he had cured the problem but the same thing happened. To cut a very long story short and, after numerous attempts to resolve the elusive problem, Hughes decided to give us a brand new TV, together with a brand new surround system with no charge. Everything has worked together perfectly since installation and my wife and I are exceedingly happy. I would mention that we have over the years purchased all manner of appliances from Hughes of Ely and will continue to do so. I would further mention that I would still have stayed with them even if they could not have solved the annoying problem of the TV and sound system not working together. Everyone at Hughes bent over backwards to help my wife and I, whose hearing is not at all good, thus the need for a surround system. I truly cannot recommend Hughes of Ely enough.

This shop is the place to be! What a wonderful team of staff who are ALL willing to help with whatever is needed. The are all willing to go the extra mile for any customer. Much better than the bigger electrical retailers. Definitely a personal touch with each transaction and pleasant experience every time. The stock a great range of products an are always happy to demonstrate the products where possible. All of the staff have a broad knowledge of the products that they stock and are able to answer questions for the customer.

I would recommend everyone to go to this shop for all of your electrical needs!

I have nothing but praise for the staff and service at this shop. We relocated to this area and needed to buy all new appliances. How fortuitous it was of us to first check out this shop. Not only did they match or beat the famous retail park shop prices, but the advice and guidance both at the time of purchase and the after service was first class. I can thoroughly recommend Steve, the manager and ALL his staff. They are true professionals. You would never find this kind of "personal" attention and help at the bigger retail stores.
