Halla is a fifty-year-old independent woman. But behind the scenes of a quiet routine, she leads a double life as a passionate environmental activist. Known to others only by her alias "The Woman of the Mountain", Halla secretly wages a one-woman-war on the local aluminum industry. Hull Truck Theatre’s Act III over 55s Theatre-Makers Group present Farewell My Lonely, a production that celebrates the very human desire to connect with other people - from family and friends, to partners or lovers.
Farewell My Lonely explores the complexity of human connections, showing what can happen when they start to dwindle, or when we lose a significant partner - the person with whom you’ve spent a large part of your life. The show also looks at shyness, trying to fit in with the crowd, and the mental health issues that can develop through lack of contact with others. But, above all, Farewell My Lonely is an affirmation of life, of living it to the full and dealing positively with whatever life throws at you.
