Hull University Ju-Jitsu Description

Affiliated to the World Ju-jitsu Federation, the Hull University Ju-jitsu Club is led by Sensei Helen Horrobin and Sensei Neil Gordon to train people of all abilities. It is a great way to increase fitness and confidence and also learn how to defend yourself.

New members are very welcome and we try to cater to different interests, from basic self-defence technique to Kobudo (traditional Japanese weapons training). Newcomers are welcome to training throughout the academic year (and beyond), not just at the beginning.

Lessons mostly include locks, throws and striking with kicks and punches. We recommend loose fitting clothing but we usually train in bare feet so trainers are not essential.

Feel free to come and watch for the first session or take part, your first session is free!

Training sessions takea place in Studio 1 at the university Sports and Fitness Centre on Inglemire Lane, Hull, HU6 7RX. Training times for 2019 /20 are as follows:

Monday: 19: 00-20: 30
Wednesday: 19: 00-20: 3

Our executive committee this year are:

President: Emily Mortimer
Vice President: Jennifer Lam
Treasurer: Codey McShane
Secretary: Adam Durnin
Social Secretary: Sumayah Yassin
