Access to affordable, sustainable energy should a basic human right. Every government's main energy priority should be helping its people and businesses take greater control of both production and consumption through micro-generation: facilitating the transition to renewable and sustainable energy production at a local and even household level. We believe that energy policies at all levels should put people before profits. Energy production companies should be able to make profits which will cover the cost of production; allow investment in new generating technologies, and provide a small return to investors. But profits cannot be allowed to increase unchecked at the expense of humanity, our environment, and the future of this planet.
