About Humanist Ceremonies
Humanist CeremoniesŌäó celebrants conduct unique, meaningful, non-religious funerals, weddings, vow renewal, and naming ceremonies. We work across England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands.
Humanist Ceremonies Description
Rites of passage such as birth, marriage and death have been marked over many centuries and across diverse cultures. Doing so fulfills a very human need.
Humanist Ceremonies offer those of us who are not religious a way of marking such major changes in our lives in a way that is meaningful and sincere.
We believe itŌĆÖs important that we mark such occasions with honesty, warmth and affection, using words and music that are appropriate to the lives, values and personalities of those concerned.
Our network of around 300 celebrants have been trained and accredited to ensure they write and conduct beautiful, unique, appropriate ceremonies.
And so each of our ceremonies is individual, created specifically those involved. Inclusive occasions, they are focused on universal values and a concern for humanity rather than religious belief or superstition.
There are no rules about what can or canŌĆÖt be included within your ceremony. Our celebrants will work with you to plan and create an occasion that best meets your needs.

WeŌĆÖre all different, so why should we all say the same old vows?
With a humanist wedding ceremony, there are no set vows: you decide what youŌĆÖd like to say to one another, and the promises youŌĆÖd like to make.

What a whimsical, wonderful wedding - and a fab write-up about our celebrant, Zena Birch - Zena Birch - Bespoke Humanist Ceremonies.
In this blog post, the bride says," ZenaŌĆÖs warmth and passion for her job made our ceremony and made it truly magical. ItŌĆÖs ZenaŌĆÖs little touches that make the difference, her storytelling lit up the woodland and her idea to get us to tie the knot with climbing rope (we are both climbers) was AWESOME! When we walked down the aisle together we were swept away by the beautiful atmosphere Zena was instrumental in creating. By the end of the day, every single person had approached us or Zena to express how amazing our ceremony was."

We got married on Saturday, Kate Owens-Palmer was our celebrant and we certainly have no regrets for having a humanist ceremony. Kate made sure every detail was tailored to us and even people in the family who are religious finally understood why for us only a humanist ceremony would do and loved the ceremony!
