A fire believed to have been started deliberately tore through the storage unit on the recreation ground on Church Street, Boughton Monchelsea in Maidstone, in the early hours of 18th June. Members of MPE FC have been left unable to play any games as key pieces of equipment went up in flames. This club has 14 boys’ teams and is integral to our local community, when we heard of this act of vandalism, Humidity Response contacted David Gubbins the Club Secretary with an offer to donate a dozen or so footballs. This was well received by Dave as everything they had went up in flames.

Team has been flat out today! Removing wet insulation from a crawl space under 2 apartments, removing 400 litres of water and carrying out injection drying.

Advice for dealing with the aftermath of flooding in your property:
Contact your insurance company as soon as possible.
If you can get in to your property, take photographs for evidence.
... Protect yourself against contamination, flood water is full of bacteria and sewage, always wear waterproof outerwear, wellingtons and gloves.
Make sure all electrical circuits are fully dried out and checked by an certified electrical engineer before switching back on.
Have your gas or oil central heating checked by a certified/qualifies engineer.
