Went with my 2 girls friend and her little ones, had a lovely meal before heading to the pictures, will be my place of choice from now on. Kids all left happy as well, build your own pasta, followed by chocolate brownies ’┐Į
Went to the hungry horse for MotherŌĆÖs Day and was really pleased with the food,our meals arrived very quick after ordering and staff were polite and helpful even getting our first drink brought over so we could spend more time pondering over what we were going to order.I thought that the free glass of prosecco and free pudding for the mums on MotherŌĆÖs Day was a lovely touch,will be definitely back in the near future many many thanks guys ’┐Į’┐Į’┐Į’┐Į’┐Į
Went in for a bite to eat with my little girl, sister and niece before heading over to the oaks to do a bit of shopping, staff were so friendly and made us feel very welcome. Kids loved being able to play in the play area before dinner arrived. Food was lovely. Amazing friendly pub for everyone ’┐Į
Went here for bite to eat and couldnt fault it was fairly busy with kids but we sat away from the play area and didn't hear them ordered at bar service very quick then food was out within 20 mins and cooked to perfection will be back again soon the manager Leanne definitely made changes and its improved lots
We visited the Rake Hall this afternoon after winning the Gary Barlow competition, what can I say our table was waiting for us, we were being waited on by a lovely lady called Kirsty and she was amazing! Nothing was too much trouble, she made sure we had everything we needed, meals were all delicious, fresh and hot, the kids all enjoyed playing in the free play area, we've had a wonderful afternoon, thanks Rake Hall for our 4 free starters and mains, we've had a lovely relaxing afternoon!
We come last night for a birthday. The staff are what makes this place. They are so friendy. Made our visit brilliant.
The food was nice... i got the jalcrazy and my ass is a bit spicy this morning. But overall it qas 10 out of 10 and that was mostly due to tje friendly staff .

Visited yesterday to have a family meal, we all had a lovely relaxing time and enjoyed our food which was very good value for money! Jenny our waitress was extremely welcoming and helped with our queries. Kids loved the play area and the entertainment they had on (disco, balloon man and spiderman)

Visited for the first time today (been put off by all the negative reviews) but thought we'd give it a chance. I have to say I was really impressed. Your staff are the friendliest and happiest I've ever been served and greeted by. A lady with blonde hair made sure we where all OK and couldn't do enough for us. Food was perfect! Very delicious! And you have the best play area around. My 2 year old had a fantastic time! Will be back again soon! Will be a regular for sure. Hidden gem!
The wife had her Burger and chips which she really enjoyed . Sadly I had the fish and chips . The reason I say sadly is because no matter how hard I try I don't think I will ever enjoy a fish so much again . It was outstanding and worth every penny . The fish was lovely and the batter superbly cooked .
Also great service and great price too . Thrown in with a lovely pint of Peroni to top it all off . My first time here but certain I will be coming back again
Not been The Rake Hungry Horse for a few years so thought I'd give it another try on Sunday with my family. Had a steak which was piping hot, good quality and Very tasty it also came very quickly to the table. The staff were very friendly and there was a lovely family atmosphere in the building and outside. Especially the ducks and their babies. My 2-year Old grand-daughter loved following them around the grounds. We plan to come here regular for a family meal. This is our new favourite place. Well done to the Management and Staff.
I come here a lot due to only living over the road. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. We come to the craft night last night and my son refused to come back to the table for his tea so the manager let him eat it with her at the craft table he even ate it all which he doesnŌĆÖt normally do. All our food was hot and always is. X

Had a family meal here on May 19th. It was a lot of people but the staff did well. The food was lovely definitely worth the money. We really enjoyed ourselves and would certainly come back here. The portions were generous even the child's meal was a good size.

A big group of us came in and was able to be seated which was great! The food came efficiently and very well presented, a good selection of beers which were served cold and tasty. You'll be seeing me again oh and a little tip save room for dessert it was delicious

Well" really enjoy my experience at the Rake hall, the staff where welcoming and the food was nice too and the service was good as we didn't have to wait long for meals.
Iv given 4 stars to reflect value and realistic expectations for a 6-10 pound meal. We stopped going to the rake because it had become a bit of a local for the travellers. Went today and there was no bad/nervy atmosphere, the girl serving was lovely and the food was as described. It came within 15 mins. If you go when it's packed I'd imagine waiting times would be longer and if you're expecting fine dining go somewhere else and spend more. If you're hungry tho and you've got kids, this is good.
Good simple food served quickly. It was fairly noisy inside near the pool table but staff were friendly and efficient.
9 out 10 its a good quality meal and the staff they have required make it a better place to come back to.
We were on the Caravan site 5 mins walk away. We have been coming here for the past 10 years and have seen this place have its ups and downs. We came for lunch on 2nd November and although there were only two staff working on the bar and serving food we received excellent service and had very good pub style food. My hubby had scampi which he was more than happy with. I had a double classic burger. All good. Please don't expect amazing food here. Just good hot well cooked pub grub in pleasant surroundings and efficient staff.
Had plenty of really nice meals here but on this occasion meal came out only barely warm the condiments needed replenishing amd the place was freezing!!!! Replace meal nice and hot and will give it another go as it's very reasonable and the staff friendly :)
Not happy family meals came out cold and at separate times orders werenŌĆÖt what was stated on menu kept getting orders wrong then ushered out as kids not allowed in after 10 I had to leave a lot of my meal due to having to leave not impressed at all wonŌĆÖt be returning thatŌĆÖs for sure ’┐Į’┐Į
Got their ordered are food food came quite quick but had to wait five minutes with my food in front to me for a knife from fork so went cold not good
What a joke of a place went tonight ordered burger meal asked with no burger sauce but come with it on so returned it waited bit longer it come back with just a fresh bun same meat with sauce on it so sent it back again waited bit longer 3rd one come guess what fresh bun same meat burger stone cold spoke to person in change named ADAM lacked customer service skills and had a stinking attitude he give me a refund for my burger meal before talking to me as was still waiting for my food after waiting a hour and panther had finished her meal I could not wait any longer I managed to get a full refund for everything in the end I would never go back again needs new chef and manager or better still shut the place down
What a dreadful place. Ordered drinks my daughter had to go back and change hers due to a dirty glass ’┐Į ordered food, half the item missing when made staff aware very poor service skills. Food was aweful, will not be returning
Wed 6th june myself and 5 family members visited the rake for a meal. unfortunatley we sent all 6 meals back, 3 meals was cold and one meal with a large insect under my chips, id of understood if it was on top of food that it had landed there after being zapped , but to be under the chips concerned me.
Should really be 0 stars. Went for my birthday, 12 of us. No body greeted us when we walked in, they were too busy doing nothing. Table looked like it had been used just before we got there and no one had been bothered to clean it properly or re set it for the next customers. Meals were warm. We had to ask 3 times for cutlery. They started clearing the table when we finished, then left 4 plates on the end of the table. When the deserts arrived, they then decided to tell one of the party, they had run out of what she wanted. Floors were covered in used tissue paper and remenents of food. Most of the staff looked scruffy and like they didn't want to be there. Used to really enjoy eating there .... won't be going there again in a hurry!
Overcooked and dry food. Popcorn bacon was like teeth breaking charcoal.
Cheap supermarket chips. I wish I could post a photo of the meal.
If you like food give this place a miss.
Management really need to get a grip. The place is dirty, full on uncleared plates, empty glasses, the floor has more food on it than the plates. Not enough staff for the size of establishment. Long wait for food and drink, this is not a one off.
Looking at all these very negative comments in feedback about this place, after my daughters recent BAD experience here, it is apparent that the Rake do not care....there is not one response from them to any ones complaints....and there are so many....think that says a lot about what this place thinks about its customers.....deplorable!!!
Just had the worst meal ever firstly no bacon for hunters chicken then no pulled pork for one of the burgers,ordered it anyway but no money off even though it had no pulled pork on it! had to wait 1hr and 30 mins food finally arrived cremated! the boys burger was dry and stale the girls scampi and mash well the scampi was rock hard and mash was like play dough looked like a day old micro meal my fajitas black burnt to a crisp charcoaled peppers and husbands rubbery burnt chicken I'm not normally one to right a review but so disappointed as we have been to this pub numerous times and never had a complaint so don't know what happened tonight as we was not the only ones that had issues as when we was leaving there was plates everywhere with food left on them! As we arrived someone was complaining about burnt food should of left then but thought maybe only a one off but no everyone had problems with there food we will not be returning any time soon which is a shame as we did like this pub!
If I could rate this 0 stars I would what a joke of a place first of all not greeted by any member of staff as we walked in , food was dreadful I ordered chicken New Yorker which was freezing and cheese was just thrown on top not melted also forgot my tomato and coleslaw , partners burger was stone cold and solid couldn't bite through it I ordered a side of garlic bread which was also freezing floppy and cheese not melted cutlery was also dirty no sauce in buckets when I asked a member of staff I was told "over there somewhere" I think this is just unacceptable for such a big food chain hungry horse sort you restaurant out don't no how this hasn't been closed down already looking at past reviews , I was actually offered a refund for adult meals so thanks for that but I will not be back to this place ever , oh and play area stinks give that a clean to !!!!
Had plenty of good times in the past at the rake, returning after a few years I was very disappointed, from being sat outside surrounded by tables full of waste food attracting wasps and flies, so had to move inside with our 2 year old son, finding a table our food arrived, my son's kids meal had more chips than me, chips cold, wife's half chicken was swimming in some sort of greasy soup. Was attacked by flies just added to the great experience. My real ale was dead and tasted of water. Then to top it off my son didn't get his fruit pot as told. Paid our bill left our drinks and couldn't wait to get away from there. Shame as was a real nice pub.
Absolutely awful, cold food, bad service, and desserts where not as advertised, all in all a bad experience ’┐Į
