Hunter'S Moon Description
The Hunters Moon is a traditional mid-18th century former coaching inn. It was restored to its former glory in 2000, and changed its name from the White Horse Inn to The Hunters Moon.
Middlemarsh (aka Marshwood in Thomas Hardy’s novel ‘The Woodlanders (1887)’) is a small village consisting of about 30 houses in West Dorset. It is surrounded by beautiful Dorset countryside, and is situated half way between Sherborne and Dorchester on the A352. Sherborne station is a ten minute journey away, which has links to London Waterloo.

What a great pub staff are so friendly I would recommend this place to eat and drink any day of the week
What a great place to stay! Great food (both evening meal and breakfast) and a lovely cosy room. Made to feel very welcome from start to finish. Will definitely stay again when in the area.
We've always enjoyed our stay and food at Hunters Moon... the staff are lovely and friendly, and cannot do enough to make sure you're looked after .. thank you again for putting me up at short notice on a bank holiday weekend xx
We came across your pub yesterday and we're so glad we did, we Def will be back. The starters and the carvery were delicious, lovely pub, friendly staff lovely atmosphere, thank you we will return �
Very warm friendly welcome as soon as you go in, attentive friendly staff, and the food is wonderful I can honestly recommend The Hunters Moon 👍👍👏
This lovely place deserves 10 stars! We are in the area visiting with friends and what a joy it was tovisit you, the setting, staff and food is second to none! Enjoyed it that much we have all booked up for another meal here tomoro night. ���
Stayed for two nights in the family room. The breakfast was amazing and set us up nicely for the day. We also ate there one night and the food and service was top quality. We will definitely stay again if we are in the area.
Service from the time we walked in the door to the time we left was faultless ,nothing to much trouble ,the meal was fantastic even though I hasten to add I couldn't finish mine because I was stuffed lol, saying that the desert was the best I've ever had ,happy to say 2 delicious mains, 1 desert ,and Irish coffee,,thankyou all we will return( and thanking you from our 3 grateful dogs for the remains that we couldn't eat and was wrapped up in foil )
My only issue with was that I was full from my fabulous main and couldn't finish all my delicious chocolate cheesecake! The food is heavenly. Dean is a fantastic host.
I only came close to this once before when our friends James and Farrell used to still run a place down here but sadly they no longer do and their chef Matt has moved to Lincoln. So glad we discovered the Hunters Moon.
I have just had Lovely meal, the food was all amazing , the lamb burger was delicious and great portions! and a lovely beer garden to sit in while my son ran around and enjoyed himself , A fantastic pub !!! Would and will definitely recommend!! :)
I ate there last evening with my grand-daughter. Lovely old traditional pub, excellent food and friendly, efficient staff. I shall definitely recommend to friends.
Great night best Christmas party I have ever had! Our usually chatty loud table was reduce to silence over the quality of food! Too busy enjoying our meal.

Found this gem of a pub on the way back from Weymouth Carnival �staff very friendly and welcoming and food was superb � We were shown to a quiet spot which was great for us as our youngest son happens to have autism and can sometimes feel anxious around others, definitely be stopping here again �
Fantastic landlord. Great atmosphere...super food...a lovely evening...we were the last to leave! Fantastic country pub and will be going back...really good quality pub grub

Dean the Landlord knows how to run a good country pub. A great choice of ales and beers and a superb selection of Gins my wife liked the Monkey 47. Our meals were delicious all fresh vegetables and large portions. Also there is accommodation available.
Absolutely scrumptious yummy food, very friendly and welcoming staff. Very dog friendly which was a big bonus. Well worth a visit if your passing by or fancy a day out that way, pop in. Best pub meal we have had in ages.
