⭐️A fabulous night at York Racecourse with our Year 13’s at their leavers’ Ball. They will be missed!

Following on from Friday’s brilliant play ‘Bomb Happy’ Year 9 students were able to ask questions of the actors, as well as veterans Ken ‘Smudger’ Smith and Ken ‘Cookie’ Cook. Albert ‘Bert’ Barrett was also in attendance – he is the father of Dorothy Bilton, a former Huntington School teacher. Allowing students to connect directly with the events of the Normandy Beaches was a powerful and moving moment, especially when Year 9’s showed their appreciation for these remarkable men with a long standing ovation. We were very grateful to everyone involved for enabling these stories to be heard.

🎭What an amazing afternoon for Huntington School Year 9’s who are watching Bomb Happy a play by EverwitchTC. It is also Live Streaming to many other secondary schools. Bomb Happy evocatively brings to life the first hand accounts of five of the last York Normandy Veterans, who, as young lads from York, Leeds, Sheffield & London, found themselves part of one of the most important military operations of World War Two… the D-Day Landings. 🎥

👏Very proud of our Huntington Team who won the UKMathsTrust Poster Trophy at the Team Maths Challenge National Final in London yesterday! A great achievement against some fierce competition from 87 teams. Their winning poster will be professionally reproduced by UKMT and distributed nationwide.🏆

🤞Good luck to our UKMT finalists heading down to London today for the National Final of the maths competition! After becoming the regional winners last term Team Huntington will be competing against the best 88 teams from schools across the UK.

We are the Mental Health Champions of Huntington School. We provide specialist peer support and guidance to students across our school by applying evidence based techniques and strategies to improve well-being and develop tools for healthy minds. We campaign to reduce the stigma of mental health and aim to improve outcomes for children and young people.
The Mental Health champions programme is coordinated by Amy Tinson.

The 2018 results showed that Huntington School achieved the Highest Average Student Progress in England for General Studies.👏👏
