Built for socialising and furnished to be lived in with comfort we have 31 bedrooms, 5 reception rooms, a cottage and wonderful grounds along with the village church being on our driveway. Always exclusive use rentals for up to 74 overnight guests and up to 120 guests for parties, banquets and weddings. Whether there's 20 or 120 of you the house's relaxed grandeur is the perfect way to mark the moment. No corkage. No hidden fees. Licensed for civil ceremonies. With Huntsham Courts Victorian Gothic revival architecture, which was completed in 1869, we couldnât let the weekend pass without recognising the 200 year anniversary of one of the most important Victorians of all time, John Ruskin.
Ruskin was born on the 8th February 1819 (The same year as Queen Victoria). He became one of the most influential figures in modern history, inspiring everyone from Charlotte BrontĂŤ to Mahatma Gandhi and the founders of the UKâs National Trust. An... artist, critic and social reformer.
Ruskin was hugely influential within the art world, for example it is questionable whether Turnerâs art would be so popular today without his appreciation. While the critics of the day lambasted the âchildish executionâ and haphazard paintwork of JMW Turner, Ruskin was full of admiration for the artistâs expressive seascapes and drafted a riposte to the most damaging of the reviews.
Ruskin praised Turner as âthe only perfect landscape painter whom the world has ever seenâ.

It's hard to find words to encapsulate all that the place is, what it means to us, everything the amazing team there do, from the owners through to the housekeepers. But suffice to say that when you read all the stuff on their website about it being one of the best wedding venues i...n the UK, if not the world... Well, it's all true!
We had spent two years looking for the right place to have our wedding, abroad as well as in the UK. Within a minute of pulling into the Huntsham drive we knew we'd finally found it. From the beginning, the team there were incredibly warm, welcoming and extraordinarily efficient, helping us with everything from finding the right suppliers to plotting minute-by-minute how the day would unfold. All those plans came together, thanks to our brilliant co-ordinator and all the staff.
We lost count of the number of guests who told us it was the greatest venue they had attended. Everyone says this I know, but genuinely it was the best weekend of our lives. Thank you unbelievable magical Huntsham - see you for our 50th anniversary!

The sound of the bagpipes rang out through the hills and valleys of mid Devon on 24th January, as Hospiscare welcomed 100 guests to its sell-out Burns Night supper at Huntsman Court.
Local bagpiper, Paul Jackson gave a stirring Address to the Haggis which was thoroughly enjoyed after the whiskey toast. Supper was followed by Devon based Ceilidh band, Piping Hot, with a variety of Scottish Country Dances which kept the guests twirling and spinning in front of the open fire, l...ate into the night
With some fantastic auction prizes on offer, over ÂŁ9,000 was raised on the night to support Hospiscare, the local charity caring for the terminally ill in Exeter, Mid and East Devon.
Congratulations Hospiscare and all who attended the Burns Night supper for making the evening such a great success!

1). Huntsham Court can sleep up to 82 people and as of March, we will be able to sleep up to 92!... 2). Looking for a Church wedding? Only a short walk from the main house, All Saints Church can seat up to 120. 3). Huntsham Court doesn't dictate which suppliers you must and must not use, you are free to choose however suits you and your style. Of course, we are more than happy to pass on recommendation's though! 4). To help you with your planning workload, you will be allocated a dedicated wedding planner who can help guide you along the way. 5). Huntsham Court has a ceremony license for multiple locations, both indoors and outdoors. 6). NO CORKAGE! Bring the drinks you want for the bar, the wedding breakfast and everything in between. 7). You can stay the whole weekend! Why make it a day, when you can make it a weekend. Arrive on Friday, soak up some time with friends and family, get married on Saturday and then enjoy a leisurely breakfast before departure on Sunday.

We were delighted to be featured on the show as part of a segment called 'The Great British Staycation'.

We were so fortunate to have our wedding celebration at Huntsham Court, the venue couldn't have been better. The owners were charming and made the whole experience ideal. We'll never forget it, and neither will our guests!
We run a fun Events company and were hired in to provide rodeo bull entertainment for a wedding at the Huntsham Court Country House. The staff were extremely helpful and the grounds gave us some amazing pictures. Just wanted to thank everyone there and hope to work with you all again soon.

We had our wedding here last month and I have to say the venue and the staff exceeded all our expectations - the whole weekend from start to finish was nothing short of exceptional! Being left to enjoy ourselves as much as we needed, with experienced staff there to support us as and when we needed gave us the freedom to create our dream wedding weekend. The Huntsman Court Country House is just perfect for the big family get together, like a wedding. Right next to the parish church with a very friendly vicar. The amenities are great, set in a country house, not spoiled by massive my, but comfortable.

Simply PERFECT ! Dan and I were married at All Church Saints - the gorgeous church at the bottom of the drive - by Rev Kev - who is simply fab, 10 Dec 2016. We arrived at Huntsham Court Friday lunchtime and didn't leave for 48 hours!
We had a pre- wedding Christmas party the Friday night and Saturday was the big day.
Everything went without a single hitch, and even if there was a hitch, the HC Team didn't let us know! We could completely relax and didn't need to worry about a single thing.
The team know exactly what they are doing - it is a very very well oiled machine but with the added bonus of a personal touch and great communication.
The interior design is awesome - it is beautifully decorated but not stuffy - everyone felt very comfortable the entire weekend.
We really can't thank Chris and Damian enough for offering HC as a venue (little things like naming the guest rooms after their pets is so lovely!) thank you to the team, and a special big thank you to Deby who was just so helpful, thoughtful, creative, supportive and fun throughout the entire planning process right through to the big day.
We would love to do it all again - it was literally the best weekend EVER!!! I'm inspired by another reviewer who said they came back for an anniversary celebration!!

Our wedding weekend at Huntsham in June 2017 was absolutely perfect, from start to finish! We couldn't have asked for a better planner than Petra to help make our weekend exactly the way we hoped. She was always contactable, nothing was too much trouble, and she is such a lovely person, that we always felt at ease with her.
During the weekend itself, all the staff were fantastic. They were friendly with our guests, but professional, and everything was set up and run exactly as we had asked. Nothing went wrong all weekend (or we at least did not hear about it/have to deal with it ourselves!) and we are still being told by our guests even now, that it was the best wedding they've ever been to! Being able to accommodate so many guests at the venue was a huge bonus, as it was like a mini holiday for them, and they could relax all weekend with all the celebrations happening in one place.
All in all, a stunning venue, with lots of freedom to make the weekend your own, and with an incredible team of staff who go out of their way to make it perfect for you. We're trying to think of more excuses for a celebration here! Thank you to the whole team who helped to make our wedding weekend so special!

My husband and I were lucky enough to go back to Huntsham recently for an anniversary dinner in the Library, which was kindly arranged by the team. I don't think any other venue would just let you return and help create something so special again. For us, it just shows how personal and unique Huntsham is.

My daughter and son-in-law booked Huntsham for their wedding at the weekend and from the minute we arrived lunchtime on Friday, till we left Sunday afternoon we and the other 118 guests have had an absolute blast. Huntsham works like a well oiled machine with lovely staff who come and go as required, seamlessly setting and re-setting the beautiful reception rooms for each activity - in our case from Friday evening meal in the Tapestry Diamond Room followed by a ceilidh in the Great Hall, the wedding itself at the gazebo in the stunning grounds followed by canapes outside and the wedding breakfast in the Yellow Room and Library ensuite on the Saturday and Sunday lunch. All the rooms are tastefully furnished with hand picked period furniture, lush fabrics, beautiful wallcoverings and objet. Every possible need is catered for in a totally relaxed way. You really feel the house is your home for the weekend and by the end of it you don't want to leave. I cannot imagine a better wedding venue. Special thanks to Debbie, Colin and Jane for helping make my daughter's wedding weekend so special for us all.
Loved every minute of our three day stay here to celebrate our son's marriage (Jeremy Basile to Kate Moore). The staff were super friendly and helpful, accommodation was magnificent and the grounds and rooms created an amazing ambiance for a wedding.
