Awful room, crt TV?! Hotel smells damp. Asked for room to be changed, assured it would be but didn't happen. Expect more for money paid. Didn't even ask if we enjoyed stay when checking out. Avoid.
Yes, we were " back at The Hydro " again last week. We were very happy to find the renovations still going strong and the hotel is looking very fresh and revived. Some of the staff have changed - but what hasn't changed is their positive attitude and push to help - and the food, as always, very well prepared and presented.
Sometimes you learn more through problems - I had a couple - and was very impressed with the accessability and approach of the " new " M.D. who was readily able to put my mind at rest - and that is not always easy !!

Brilliant, actually five stars!! Huge bath and lovely amenities. Clean and fresh and comfortable with plenty of space. The restaurant is also lovely with brilliant food, a friendly atmosphere and good service too. But most of all this premium hotel is in an absolutely stunning part of the world, were every view is a perfect picture frames by your window. Had a really wonderful night on our honeymoon here!!
It's got to be the worst experience iv had stopping in a hotel. The walls are paper thin so you here everything. Got woke up at 3 30 then 5 in morning by other drunk hotel guest s thinking it's ok to be on balcony talking at the top of there voices, then to top it off upstairs decided to play music at 6 in the morning which went on for a couple of hours. The bathroom flooded because the shower trays are not deep enough and breakfast was a joke, they couldn't cope with the demand so was nothing coming out fast enough so decided to eat out somewhere else. For the price you pay for a room you expect better !!!!!!!
An amazing hotel. Our suite was perfect 👌. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The restaurant was top class and food was of a high standard. The facilities were excellent. We would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone. We are already planning our next visit.
Terrible hotel went at Easter with my husband. We arrived on Good Friday around 2pm didn't know how to get into the hotel as it was having a refurbish we didn't know anything about it . We got a small room 164 if you get offered this room decline it, the bathroom door doesn't close so you can't lock it, the toilet roll holder is far away from the toilet, the TVs is very dated the volume get going up & down the kettle didn't switch off, the bedroom window didn't lock
an the view was well can't explain avoid this hotel.

This places brought me awful experience. Had booked a standard room and the room turned out to be the most disgusting one. The room was highly dull, not lit, heater wasn't working, the toilet seat was broken, washroom was dirty and unhygienic, staff didn't respond to queries well and made us feel ignored. Also the room lock was broken, hence couldn't lock the door at all, upon complaining the staff, no action was taken through out our stay. I wouldn't recommend any one.
Fairly basic hotel. A comfy bed, a knackered shower, a warm room. The hotel itself needs some polish but it's perfectly fine. The buffet they laid on for us was great, really good home made style and plenty of it!
