Would highly recommend this hotel! My sister got married here yesterday, and couldn’t thank the staff enough! They were all brilliant and so helpful throughout. Whenever we had an issue they solved it straight away with no fuss at all. The family room was beautiful too! X

User

We stayed in room 107 & our teenage boys room 108.

Our room was huge, not a sea view but overlooking the beautiful gardens. Everything was clean & the bed was massive. We really enjoyed the spa & the pool. We had a lovely break & would like to come back one day.

User

We had an amazing stay here last week for a wedding! The staff were all really friendly. The perfect setting for a wedding! We will 100% be back again!

User

We got married at The Hotel Imperial on Friday 1st December and what can we say..... We had the most magical, festive and perfect day. Rebecca Taylor was amazing from start to finish, holding meetings, full communication and even ensuring the venue was decorated to our liking on the morning. The staff were all professional and approachable and nothing was a problem for them. We were also upgraded to the exceptional Belcourt Suite with outstanding 180 degree views, and we were welcomed with Champagne after our wedding reception. I would highly recommend The Hythe Imperial Hotel if you are thinking about booking your wedding. It was faultless. Mr and Mrs Mitchell

User

We came for Afternoon Tea and Spa. The hotel has recently been refurbished inside and out and looks great. The Afternoon Tea was fabulous, with attentive staff and lovely food.

The Pool area is good, and the separate room including Spa Pool, Steam Room and Sauna is a lovely place sit relax although a little too hot when we first went in! Both areas overlook the gardens and there are plenty of loungers. The changing area and Pool Reception could do with a rethink to get them in line with the rest of the hotels standards but perfectly acceptable.

We also had a look at the rooms set up for Wedding use - the Ballroom with the Sea Deck was stunning and the Wedding Coordinator was very helpful. Recommended!

User

This is our second stay here and must say facilities, staff, food all excellent. Got a room with sea view and weather is glorious. Definitely no complaints from us and we will be back👍👍👍👍👍😎👍👍👍

User

The hotel is in the perfect location and the overall standard is very high. Our room is excellent. We ate in the restaurant last night and the meal was fantastic. The service was exemplary.

User

Still here at the Hythe Imperial. Couldn’t wait to put review on.

Arrived yesterday earlier than expected, so room not quite ready. Friendly receptionist took our bags to look ok after. We had afternoon tea at the hotel which we found pleasant. We booked a room with a sea view and we actually got a suite with sea views and more. We ate last night in the Coast restaurant and oh my what a meal it was. I had Chicken Terrine to start. It was beautiful, followed by the Short Rib. Let me tell you it was delicious.

This morning both my husband and I had some spa treatments. The ladies that looked after us were really lovely. I felt so relaxed I could have fallen asleep.

We had planned on going for some nice walk but the weather is so cold we have whimped out. A nice swim and sauna at the hotel instead this afternoon.

There are building works going on here but in all honesty you wouldn’t really know it.

All the staff are exceedingly friendly and helpful. We only booked for two nights but I could easily stay much longer. I would also drive the hour and half just to eat here.

Well worth a visit.

User

Simply perfect. Lovely room. Excellent staff very accommodating of my five year old. She loved it. Super clean. Great view. Dinner and breakfast as good as any top London restaurant. Only thing? Small lift was a bit slow!

User

On arrival at reception the staff were very friendly, welcoming & proffessional, the room was very spartan, clean & well equipped, air conditioning, fridge, a safe, fantastic decor, ironing board with iron, top quality light fittings, switches and sockets, nice big shower with easy to use controls and best of all a good size TV (that works properly) with HD, I have stayed in many places in Hythe, most of which have been very disappionting but for the little extra or less you might have to pay this is easierly the best accommodation money can buy, very highly recommended!!

User

Just arrived home after a 3 night stay. We keep returning as we just love this place. The rooms are luxurious, the restaurant food is great and the sea view is great to wake up to everyday.

User

Had an amazing evening and a fantastic meal and we would like thank John Bingley and his team for the amazing food and great service.

User

Amazing place to stay, everything was soo clean and welcoming, staff were soo friendly and able to help with any requests we had. When we arrived our room wasnt ready but as we had a massage booked we used the time go in the jacuzzi and steam room that we were able to use at our leisure after our massages which were very relaxing. Once we got to checking in we were told they had upgraded us to a suite and mini bar refreshments were all complimentary which was very generous of them. The suite we had was amazing soo big and so modern we felt soo relaxed and had an amazing stay in this beautiful hotel. We would be more than happy to return and hospitality made us feel completely at ease. The food was pretty good too!

User

Although we didn’t actually get married at the hotel we informed reception that it was our wedding weekend immediately upgraded to the hythe suite wow what a room sea views one side golf course and canal the other. Can’t fault anything about our stay just wish we’d been there a bit more to take advantage of the four poster and facilities however I did enjoy a swim and jacuzzi will definitely be returning even if we do live just down the road thank you hythe imperial for adding to our magical weekend

User

Great breakfast, lift was grubby and toilet a bit too close to the wall for comfort but welcoming staff and lovely setting!

User

Excellent facilities although work going on in back of hotel with scaffolding etc. Service was excellent as were the staff room perfectly adequate and well appointed. Would recommend. One disappointment was that the dinner menu did not change it was the same for two nights running. Parking was difficult near the entrance although it was a large car park with plenty of spaces most of which several yards from entrance ie if wet or carrying luggage etc. We did enjoy our visit despite those two minor niggles. Lots to see in area location very good

User

Sea View Junior Suite 304 - the view was of a construction site which we had not be informed about via email. Though the unhelpful marketing manager Marie did say they had sent emails out about this, but when showed our confirmation email with the HIH logo splashed all over it she denied it was their email. Btw, we did book directly!

The room was also lacking all the extras the the website and what you would expect from one of the best rooms to have: lack of heating (thank you to the condescending receptionist and manager for trying to make out like we didn’t know how to use their basic air con system), no toiletries(enhanced or otherwise), the 55’ smart tv (the 20’ didn’t even let you access the TV guide and only half the free view channels), no clock, late breakfast delivery though they promise a 15 minutes delivery slot, no information about charges from the mini bar (the website say it was complimentary, but you don’t want to be charged later on!).

Marie (the marketing manager) seemed to have no idea these things were supposed to be in the room as marketed on their website (if it is their website, she kept blaming their corporate partner on most things).

Yes Marie, we should have called down. But at 10 o’clock at night, on my first night out since having a baby, I did not want to spend my evening with your ‘handy man’.

She did absolutely nothing.

Beautiful hotel, just don’t waste your money on upgrading your room or any extras. Comfy bed!

User

Went for a Spa Day - Terrible experience and both the Hotel and Spa staff most unhelpful. Have been a couple of times before and it was just ok but the way we were treated on this occasion has put me off forever and I shall not be returning. We travelled for over an hour to get to the hotel only to be told that you are not allowed tea or coffee in the Spa area. You cannot purchase any food in the spa area. Unhelpful staff. Group of 12 of us went to celebrate my friends forthcoming wedding. Pool was closed for private local children on arrival and then someone was sick in the pool. We were told to wait an hour but the pool was closed all day. No one came to us and kept us informed. Every time we asked we were told that it would be another hour. We were all starving so got dressed and went upstairs to the hotel to be told the restaurant was shut & to try the bar. No seating available and staff very unhelpful. So we left at 5pm having not eaten or any tea or coffee and quite shocked at how we had been treated. After complaining we were eventually given a 20% discount by the spa for our next visit. So totally worthless. We were a quiet group of ladies in our 30’s & 40’s and not at all rowdy or loud. Terrible experience with uncaring staff.

User

We celebrated NYE and in my opinion it was of a very low standard - long queues on check in, disorganised pre dinner arrangements with long queues to order wine - which in my opinion should be ordered before the event, not enough staff, meal took absolutely ages to serve and very small portions, arrived to the ballroom with leaking roof, buckets and yellow signs at entrance, gaming tables and photo booths squashed in the corner so guests could not utilise them, but worst of all the band just stopped playing at 12.15 and everything came to a halt leaving guests feeling flat with no celebratory atmosphere. I had written confirmation from guest services in three separate emails that a booth would be reserved in the Moët Chandon bar with champagne served on arrival this didn’t happen and David in sales was far too busy to come and talk to me about it ! On a positive the room was lovely and the staff on duty tried their very best being very courteous. In my opinion this hotel has lost its high standards and will continue to do so if they don’t up their game. If customers send an email and you reply with an automated email stating you will respond within five days at the very least do this and accept mistakes can happen but work with customers to improve things. We paid a lot of money as a party of 8 guests for the overnight NYE package and it is by far the worst year of celebrations we have had and when we compare this to Ramada Hotel Dover, Tunbridge Wells Spa Hotel, Hempstead House Hotel, Hadlow Manor and Mercure Brands Hatch Hotel we certainly were not expecting that. Sorry but we won’t be returning and won’t recommend.

Comfy bed!
