Hi everyone. Wanted to use Calum’s review to provide a little explanation about our challenge with delivery. As a business we’ve tried everything with delivery - hired our own drivers, worked with Deliveroo and are actively looking at other players. The problem with running our own deliveries is that often the drivers didn’t turn up, at busy times we can’t keep up and the end product isn’t good. Deliveroo deal with this much better but take about a third of the cost of every ...kebab from us and this January, it made us lose money as most people ordered for delivery and it doesn’t stack up with the cost of ingredients, rent, overheads and paying our own great team. At busy times we have queues of people in front of us and lots of orders coming from delivery. The delivery orders mean we can’t concentrate on the customers in the shop and increases the wait for them. You’ve all seen the shop, it’s not massive, we can only do what we can do. We want to be clear that those people in the shop will always take priority - that’s why we turn the delivery machine off when it’s busy. We know it’s not ideal that we’re not always available for delivery, but it’s on when it can be and we try our best. We are only a small business and we can’t afford to run at a loss while paying big delivery players tens of thousands of £’s each month. Our own click and collect on the website is always on and there is parking right outside the shop!
Hopefully you’ll understand why it’s a little ‘pot luck’ Calum and agree the kebabs are anything but flaky, even if the delivery is sometimes 😊
