I G Property

Had a few viewings with IG Property last week! They have some of the nicest student houses I have seen in York and for a decent price, with bills so we don't have to worry about them. We have decided to take one and the process has just been so easy and we have been kept well informed.
Would recommend.

So far so good. This is our first year with I G Property and there have been very few issues. There were a few small maintenance problems when we first moved in, however, everything was sorted out pretty quickly by the team in the office.

Everyone was very friendly and accommodating.

Absolutely awful experiences dealing with IG. Our house was in no state to move into, the recycling and rubbish had been left in the garden all summer, leaving us unable to use the bins and containers. There was a hole underneath the stairs that was left to inevitably cave in before IG dealt with it. One of the rooms was of such a minuscule size that my housemate has to spend the majority of his time studying on campus, it is a room that we believe used to have a shower in but has instead been converted to a bedroom not even fit for a prisoner. How can you offer student accommodation that cannot be studied in? There is a piece of furniture in our garden that appears to have been set on fire and should have been removed but has not been. If you are a student looking to rent with IG please hesitate in doing so. Absolute shocker of a company. Over charge the tenants and treat them like rubbish!

I had IG as my agent for 7 years. Pretty average service throughout. Big problems arose at the end of the last tenancy prior to sale where essential maintenance which needed doing was unreported by them. They did make an effort to help after making a fuss but it shouldn't really be necessary. A very laid back company generally.

As a landlord , I have been using IG for many years now. They are professional and helpful in many ways. And they also help you out before you sign the landlord contract. Highly recommended. I am sure that they help the students whenever the house need any repairs. Because I can see what they have done in my monthly bill statement. Yes, they may sometime charged twice, but that is human error. Understandable. They sort it out very quickly and professionally once you tell them what is going on. You have to know that they have hundreds and hundreds of houses to manage and each student house means more than one person, sometimes up to 6 or more persons living under same roof. Now they even manage residential house too. Very challenging job. They charge tenants reasonably too. I recently have a house to rent out to a policemen and his family, whom reflect to me that the agency fee is very competitive compare to other agency too. So after seeing the low review point for IG, I think I need to stand out and share my experience with the public that I am happy with the services Ig provided. And have to say thank you to Ian, Pete, Dan, Sarah and the others for helping me renting my houses out all these years. Thank you. In addition, their cleaning standard is very high too. If the students have lower cleaning standard and then IG need to bring the cleaning standard to professional again for next group of students, obviously the cleaning time is hours to a day. You have to understand the meaning of professional standard is absolutely spotless professionally, not just only our personal cleaning standard. I learnt this from IG . I can see something interesting from the other people feedback here. Most of the bad feedback come from some contracts involving the landlords. I believe their landlords are on "Tenent find only " services. Therefore, it is useless for students to contact IG. Because who they really need to contact are the landlords. Therefore, if you want to have fast response from IG, ask for their houses whose landlords are under "fully manage " contracts. Like me, I use their fully manage services and have no problem at all in past many years.

Don't even bother! I'm still trying to fight my deposit fees! Even though I left the house perfectly spotless, the cleaners still took 9 and a half hours to hoover nothing! £171 totally robbed from me! Also given no notice when people came round, and the landlord came and went as she pleased after we left the property to redecorate, therefore any mess she made we now pay for! Just dont bother, find someone else.

Stunning service. Most rooms had new furniture and were decorated well. If anything went wrong they took care of it immediately with their own team of workmen. Nice pleasant landlord. Highly recommended 5/5
