Charlotte has already chosen to take Alex to the UK’s best ice rink, but will he choose her as his final date tonight on The Bachelor UK? Love was certainly in the air between them last winter, here at Icescape @ The Tropicana!

Thank you Weston super Mare, we are now officially closed for another year!
We want to say a massive thank you to everyone who joined us at this years Icescape @ The Tropicana and making it another unforgettable year! Thankyou to the staff who made sure they put 100% in everyday and by doing so, allowed you, the customers to have the best experience possible (and of course delicious Hot Chocolates and Mulled Wine at the Lodge bar!). Thank you to Pippen for joining us througho...ut the season, we are happy to say he is back off to the Arctic to tell his family all about his holiday with us. Shout out to BARE Grills for keeping everyone fed and watered with their BBQ skills and Pallet2product Co. for making our lodge bar look snug and warm. During the festive season the great Banwell Garden Centre & Coffee Shop supplied us with some amazing tree’s which added the festive touch to the lodge bar, so thanks guys!
Thank you to all the musicians, traders, schools, face painters and charities for joining us and bringing joy to everyone’s faces on and off the ice. Big up of course Santa Claus for visiting us to run the Grotto, he’s off for another year, well deserved we think! Thank you to the North Somerset Council and all the local press (too many to name!) for the exposure and support, we cannot thank you enough.
Last of all we want to thank you, the customers, who not only came to visit multiple times, but took the time to leave reviews, check-ins, and showed unparalleled support during the fire in November. Of course, without saying, Danco Plc for the fantastic covered marquees!
We’re proud to be here with you in Weston, and can’t wait to be back again next year!
Thank you from all the team at Icescape @ The Tropicana
Have a great 2019!

We are excited to announce that Harrisen Larner-Main will be performing in our very own Lodge Bar for Icescape @ The Tropicana!
Harrisen Larner-Main is an exciting artist, fusing his youthful energy into vintage-sounding yet current blends of acoustic pop, soul and country. His thoughtful songwriting amplified through soulful vocal styling’s, tinkering guitar licks and moving piano ballads form an exciting cocktail.
Harrisen will be performing 2 sets per show in the Lodge bar...!

Wonderfully festive, fun day out! We visited today with our three children aged 11, 10 & 7. The oldest has special

needs.

Everything ran to time, staff were absolutely fabulous - can’t praise them enough! They were all such fun, happy, smiley and so helpful. My daughter got very upset when it was time to come off the ice but a member of staff was really helpful trying to calm her down and chat to her.

Santa was brilliant - very convincing! And the grotto was beautiful.

The ice rink was huge! We read that skates were not comfy so we brought an extra pair of thick socks and we found the skates fine. The skate collection was very well organised and there were lots of staff on duty. There were also plenty of skating aids, which we booked in advance. There were lots of staff on the rink itself helping people which was good and the surface was easy to skate on.

The ice slide was really high and two turns for one token was a fair charge. The photo of this on the website doesn’t do it justice.

The rollercoaster was fab too.

Just wish Pippin had been around today.

Really highly recommend for a day out to get the whole family in the Christmas mood.

What a great place to visit, after a few years not being on ice, (it like riding a bike, comes straight back once your on) . It so nice having welcoming friendly staff, assisting with anything when necessary. Even more special when unexpectedly bumping into old time friends I haven't seen in 3 years.

User

We visited today after we had to rearrange due to the awful weather a few weeks ago. Santas grotto was lovely, the elves were very engaging and sweet. Nice gift from Santa. Loved the snow slide, really got the kids laughing. Great ice skating, queues not too bad and helpful staff on the ice. The whole setup looked very festive and we had a great time.

User

We (myself, my sister, husbands and 3 kids) had an amazing time today at Icescape Weston. We visited the lodge bar first which was decorated like an alpine ski lodge with chunky wood furniture and furry blankets everywhere. Very cosy and Christmassy and the kids loved their huge hot chocolates with all the trimmings! We were lucky to catch a magic show whilst we were in there which all the little ones were enjoying immensely.

Next onto the ice! We collected our skates without any delay (this process was well organised with plenty of staff and no real queue to mention) and headed straight on. There were plenty of friendly stewards on the ice and every time one of us fell (which was VERY often!) one of them appeared to help us up!

Collecting our shoes at the end of our skating was equally painless.

Can’t recommend enough - have been to a few rinks at Christmas and this one was a firm favourite for all of us.

User

Visited skating and tubing yesterday - was very impressed with how well run it was, in for skates one way and returning them the other. All staff seemed friendly and very helpfull (especially tom). Being that it was a temporary ice pad the ice appeared to be cut and maintained to a good standard. All in our group had a brilliant day!! What a fab location to - looking forward to visiting again next year!! Well done iceescape!!

User

Thought it looked exciting from the outside and great to see the sea front packed during the Winter evenings! Bought tickets before our visit so no need to queue. All enjoyed our ‘skate’...Term used loosely for some. Staff on the ice were very friendly and attentive. Wrap up warm if you are just watching...freezing when the tide is in; all adds to the atmosphere though a great attraction for the town...

User

Had an amazing time. We booked the 10am skating and the ice was great, it was fairly quiet too so we had lots of space to skate. My 4 year old loved the seal to ride round the ice one. We can back at 4pm to see the lights all brightly shining and had a great time riding Santa sleigh ride and the ice slide was fantastic.

User

Had a great time with 4 kiss ranging in age from 11-16. They all started holding onto the sides but soon let go. Was lovely to see their confidence grow with each circuit of the large rink. The youngest was the only one who went on the snow slide and loved it. The bar was reasonably priced and the hot chocolate and donuts were a warming sweet treat.

User

Great festive vibe, took the whole family and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves, very friendly and helpful staff some of the young ones had trouble skating so the skating staff came straight over to help them up and gave them some tips on skating. Hopefully it will be back Christmas 2018

User

Came today with our boys 2 and 4- really recommend. Reasonably priced and lots of other things to see and do. If you want to hire the seals and penguins then just make sure you get there in enough time to book them at the ticket office and then you are guaranteed them! (Like it says online) Don’t just turn up at your booking time hoping to get one. Definitely come again

User

Brilliant family day out! My son absolutely loved it, he had so much fun skating and using the seal on the ice. The rink is perfect size and the staff are so helpful and friendly. The snow slide and mini rollercoaster are fab extras. Would highly recommend everyone to visit and will be going again for sure!!

User

Brilliant big ice rink. Great fun, my 7 year old son really loved it and I think would go every day if he could. Ice seemed well maintained even on the last day. Good boot selection including toddler strap on double blades. Ice sledges for kids to use as support or to ride on.

Other activities including giant slide, santa grotto, santa sleigh rollercoaster, food and an ice bar for the adults.

Brilliant friendly staff. Can't fault their helpfulness.

I wish the council would consider a permanent ice rink. I think it would be a great tourist attraction to the town.

I just hope it returns next year! Please, please, please?

Only suggestion would be next year to employ some instructors as I'm sure ice skating lessons would be popular.

Thanks for a fun winter and I hope to see you again next year

User

Absolutely amazing.

Went today to the parent toddler session and the staff were amazing!! Helping out with me and my two children by pushing the toddlers on the seal whilst I pushed my 7 week old baby. We have booked for 23rd of December for the whole family but I’m sure we will be back before then again!

User

Glad we were able to make it yesterday after the terrible weather our kids loved every minute of the ice skating but Santa was very short and sweet it would of been nice to spend at least 5 minutes talking to him but we were in and out spent longer with the elves lol

Gutted the rest of the things were closed but you can't help our good old British weather.

User

Had to pay adult price for my 12 year old, I don't have an issue with this, but was told I couldn't hire a seal to help him as he was over 8... Lots of teenagers and adults using them tho..?!!.I made an enquiry as to why this ok, got told they have hired them so we can't do anything!!.So I paid for him to try to skate holding on and falling over til he had enough and sat down waiting for us to finish. Not impressed

User

Had a great time on the ice, little overcrowded as had to queue to get around on the ice as wasn’t over confident on the skates. The only big moan I have is with the skates themselves, plastic, too stiff there’s no give in them and left your feet and ankles really sore. Not great for beginners and those that haven’t been in a long time. I only managed 3 times around the rink. If I come again would seriously look into getting figure skates to use instead.

User

Turned up for a (prebooked) and a rearranged by the venue, slot at 11am today.

To be told there wasn't enough equipment available. And that we could wait another hour before there is equipment available again. With 2 young children in the cold (I don't think so)

I do not see the point in a booking system here if their is not enough equipment available to people.

When i asked for a refund was told I have to email or I can" wait a very long time to see a manager at the venue"

Come away with a disappointed child

And feeling disappointed ourselves. Would not recommend to others now!!

User

We went on our yearly pilgrimise to a local ice rink , this year sadly we chose this fiasco , our 45mins ice time was firstly queueing for Ice Skates for 15mins , then 30 mins being strapped to worst form of torture to be invented since the 13th Century , I have never before seen such ill fitting and not for purpose skates in 30years of skating , then waiting for 35 mins to get our comfortable shoes back.

In short I would have rather have given my £41 to a passing hippie to buy some crack as it would have been a better way to waste money

User

Booked skating and to see Santa, ice skating was but awful. Long ques, very disorganised. Couldn’t pre-book seals as they are for 6 years and under but lots of young teens had booked them on the day. Made it once round the rink with my 6 year old and not at all with my 2 year old.. this is not great after paying £47!! Ice itself is bad, very bumpy and rough.

Santa was a better experience although still not great! Santa himself was lovely, elves and helpers not so, looking bored and disinterested.

We paid £17 for 3 hot drinks ( which we expected!) but be prepared when going!

Wouldn’t pay again in coming years.
