A little sneak peak here of a track from LMYE's album coming out next month, something we will be getting behind. The duo are firm friends of the shop and the LP has been on repeat with us. It is defintiely going to be worth your attention.
Pev ‘IDLE050’ out today in all leading shops... Back in 2009 whilst working at Rooted Records I was making some vague noises about starting a label. In truth I didn't really know what I was doing but after seeing some of my contemporaries in Bristol start someting, it seemed like an idea that was worth exploring. One day Pev, who I worked with at Rooted took me to one side and offered me some tracks to get started with. I will be eternally grateful to him for that as it set m...e on the path to do what I am doing today. Here we are 9 years later and the label is putting out its 50th release, and it is again two tracks from Pev. Thanks to all the artists who have contributed along the way and thanks to all my friends who have encouraged me with the label. Sean, Shanti, Joe, Benji, Giz and Rich all deserve a special mention here as people I’ve bounced ideas off. I'm proud that IH has remained a grass roots underground label. Plenty more to come in 2019 and beyond - stay tuned!

You need this one in your life - E Unity has been one of our biggest selling artists over the last year - operating in similar territory to Livity Sound et al, but with a distinct sound of their own. In store now and online later today. Recommended
Producers, has your partner ever shouted at you for using a kettle lead for music stuff rather than making a nice cup of tea?? This is a fine digi tune that deals with that very subject 😂
Do you have vinyl to sell?? We are always looking for good quality and good condition records. The thing we are really after is Dubstep. We have a lot of customers who want this who weren’t necessarily around when it hit first time round. In the last few months we’ve had a load of old Deep Medi, DMZ, Tempa, Tectonic, Punch Drunk, Planet Mu, Hessle Audio and more pass through the racks - but we want more! We are also looking for old Idle Hands records (seriously!)
New Acting Press just landed, strong dance floor tracks from Neurotribe
Our #IHsunday selection for this week is Alice Coltrane - ‘The Ecstatic Music Of.’ A stunning retrospective of her Turiyasangitananda’s devotional works collated from the private tape archive of the Avatar Book Institute. Remember we are open today and every Sunday from midday through to 5pm or online via our website #bristol #vinyl #records
Full restocks of all available @happy__skull releases hitting the shelves, here’s Sean dropping them off earlier today
Wet, wet, wet out here today and also frustratingly an ear worm of mine this morning - maybe the two things are linked?? Either way we are open til 6:30pm and we are listening to ManonMars and not Marti Pellow
Re-upped on a the Schatrax ‘Vintage Vinyl’ series - some of the best Deep/Tech House to come from these shores in the mid 90s
We’ve been waiting a while for this one, the ManonMars LP produces by O$VMV$M - total class from start to finish, echoes of classic ‘Trip-Hop’ and more. In stock now

New Shinichi Atobe, yes please! Deep and dubby delights throughout. Buy on site. In stock and online now
Idle Hands boss Chris Farrell (ahem, yes it is me writing) in the mix for Wire Club Leeds from their KMAH Radio show the other week. An hour long live mix with a selection of 95% recent releases all on vinyl - not that format matters, except for the fact most of the tunes still available in the shop. Something to get your ears round on this grey and wet day (photo credit: Martin Thomson for Nitelife)
As some of you may have spotted at the end of last year we stealthily launched our new website. It is over 3 years since we were last online, as the old website was getting a bit glitchy. We wanted to refresh things in a proper way and thanks to the talents of Mark Benewith and Claire Barrett we have been able to do that. If you want to keep up to date with the freshest titles and to place orders from further afield you can now do that. Over the next few months we'll be adding new titles as they come in and older titles as we see fit. We hope you like it!

Wide variety of reasonably priced current and up and coming music, great location (5 minute walk from centre), turntable hardware products, the list goes on. Probably the best record shop in Bristol as a shop and as a community.
