Ido Sensors

The IDO (Intelligent Door Opener) is a clever tracking device that, when retrofitted to an existing automatic door, can significantly reduce false trigger rates. It does this by monitoring the movement of people around the area of the door (both inside and outside the store) and only opens the door when someone walks towards the door rather than past it (or loiters around it). IDO has the following effects and benefits: - Reduction in the amount of energy lost to the environment from heated or conditioned air leaving the building;- In turn this reduces the load on the heating and cooling system to stabilise the temperature within the store and reduces the carbon footprint of the store;- The building environment is more comfortable for both customers and staff thereby improving dwell time and staff churn;- Door opening analysis allows any deviation from normal use to be spotted and reported centrally (e. g. doors locked open, etc). Independent tests by the Institute of Energy & Sustainable Development at De Montfort University have been used to estimate the potential energy savings by using the system.
