The students have been invited to attend some leadership workshops to improve their confidence and communication skills which will help them to organise and run house competitions. Students will also be recognised for the time by participating in the Top Leader initiative (also PiXL Edge for year 7). Well done to those involved!

We have been incredibly lucky this week! 24 of our Year 9 students have been working with Nik from Commando Joe's as part of a high quality research trial, working with experienced researchers from Sheffield Hallam University's Institute of Education (SIOE) looking into the impact adventure learning has on students' non-cognitive outcomes and attainment.
The students took part in 12 Missions working on their teamwork, resilience, communication and problem solving skills. The...y were building bridges, constructing shelters, navigating assault courses, and solving various problems in order to achieve success.
It was a pleasure to see the students thrive over the week, and their final mission on Friday epitomized all the skills they had developed over the week when they presented their findings as a team.
Particular congratulations to Michaela and Mollie who both won 'Commando of the week', and Ella who came a close runner up.

We are very proud of one of our Year 7 students, Nicole, who has reached 1st place on the international leader board as part of our 'Literacy Planet' intervention programme. This programme is a digital literacy learning programme, that provides access to thousands of curriculum aligned exercises covering a range of areas from reading to advanced grammar all whilst earning points and competing with other students worldwide. This is a huge achievement, well done Nicole!!
