About Ijp

IJP is a forward-looking architectural practice based in East London

Ijp Description

IJP is a London-based practice cofounded by George L. Legendre, Marc Fouquet and Lluis Viu-Rebes. Legendre is also an Associate Professor In Practice at Harvard Graduate School of Design (GSD).

To date IJP has won a competition to cover a central London Street with a glass roof (with Adams Kara Taylor), and completed Henderson Waves, the longest pedestrian bridge in Singapore (with RSP). It recently served as delivery architect for the Bat House, a high-tech, sustainable shelter in West London. In 2007, the influential trade weekly Building Design elected the 3-year-old firm as one of the top 5 practices in Britain led by principals under the age of 40.

The work of IJP has been featured in more than 50 publications, from theory reviews (ARQ Cambridge University, JAE), to science journals (The New Scientist, Spektrum der Wissenschaft), architecture and engineering trade publications (Ingenia Royal College of Engineering, Building Design, AD), international print media (The New York Times , The Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal, GQ, Gastronomica) as well as US radio and television, (National Public Radio, CBS on Sunday).

To date IJP has received or been shortlisted for 13 professional awards. The practice is profiled in The New Arcadians: Emerging UK Architects (Merrell 2013). Henderson Waves Bridge has won the prestigious President's 2009 Design Award in Singapore, as well the Singapore Institute of Architects Design Award (2011).
