Went yesterday for lunch, 2 courses £12.95 which I thought was good has the main are all roughly around £15, lovely food, good service, pate and swordfish to die, my sister had the soup and slow cooked beef which she said was lovely will definitely be trying it the next time only downside like everyone as mentioned is the service charge?? What's going off there?? All in all a nice couple of hours though (P.S beers a bit pricey. Regards Mary
Just been for a quick lunch. Thought we would start with an aperol spritz.... absolutely rubbish, no flavour at all. We told the waitress that there wasn’t enough aperol in it, she insisted it was made properly using 35ml measure of Aperol. If you are going to offer these drinks then at least research the measurements required. I’ve drunk a lot of Spritz in the past few years and without doubt this was the worst.
Food was ok though.
Came in for the first time this morning to celebrate Fathers Day with family.. everyone else's looked great and no complaints however I had poached on toast which came out about ten mins after everyone else's- two tiny cold poached eggs on two large pieces of toast!! Yuk ... Service completely haphazard - waited ages for our first lot of drinks then ages for a waitress to order more but took even longer to come.. most def won't be rushing to make a return visit.
The food was okay, the service was appalling. The restaurant was not full, yet our 3 course meal took over 2 hours to arrive. The staff were unhelpful, and forgot items we had ordered. We also requested a piece of paper for our granddaughter to draw on as she was bored. The waitress said that she would get some for us, it never arrived. The meal and evening was spoiled by atrocious slow service. We arrived at 6p.m. and the room we sat in was almost empty. Unless you have plenty of time and a good book to read, then avoid Il Rosso.
