Ilfracombe Junior School is proud of being a very caring and forward-looking school. As well as being the largest primary school in North Devon we are the largest junior school in the County, which means that many of our facilities are much more extensive than would normally be found in a primary school. The school stresses the close links between the home, the child, the class teacher and the year group. A family atmosphere of caring is encouraged and although there are many opportunities for children to enjoy mixing with the rest of the school, most of the day is spent in teaching groups of between 25 to 35 pupils. Everyone involved in the school strives to create a friendly working environment, to provide a broad and balanced curriculum, which encourages all children to develop to their full potential. The staff and governors work as a team to respond to and take a lead in the many changes taking place in education in a positive and creative manner.
